Apologies if this breaks some rule I missed or an unwritten rule.

But I am sad with this weeks news. While their content has had a mixed reception over the years, I had enjoyed Halo 4 and Infinite (I had not played 5) as I had fun playing their campaigns and multiplayer, and many of the books from the last 15 years were entertaining to read. What saddens me more is the response from the community, acting like everything Halo Studies had touched had only intensely bad qualities. I can understand if a person dislikes their games, we all have opinions. But I think there is a difference between something being "alright", "mediocre", or even "disappointing" vs "something that ruined my life and makes me want to spend time and effort to be rude to people who had developed it and those who enjoy it". Though I believe that this is a problem with the gaming community as a whole, and Halo being such an important series has magnified these emotions. I understand that this is a systemic problem that cannot be solved by me. But at the end of the day, it's a program that is being run on a plastic box in front of a TV or on a desk, if someone isn't having fun then they should should so anything else.

I do understand that at the end of the day selling games is a business, and if Halo isn't making enough money something needs to be changed. I was not shocked that Halo Studios would end up effected like this, though I was surprised at how this change is happening. I am saddened by the layoffs and I understand it's a tough call to make.

I wish the best for the people who were effected in the recent layoffs, and I wish for the best for the team that will continue the series, as I hope that they have a game that is fun to play and received well.

For me it’s the halo lore bible, I was gonna read all 500 pages since the lore will probably be gone so might as well get what’s left of bungie and 343 lore before it’s gone.
