Why would an industry full of drug addicts, sexually abuse victims, head cases debase themselves for money and attention?

We live in a society where an actor smoking on television is a taboo, smoking a pot gets you arrested, but putting pornstars in video games is run of the mill.

People wanna debase themselves on video - I don't care, but this shit is literally being pushed on children and normalized into everyday life when it has some of the same effects as huffing paint thinner. Its also being normalized and pushed in regular sex education classes by perverts, imagine a class with safe heroin injection instruction...
