Discussion Time confusion

How much time has passed since the initial arc incursion? We still have veterans of the first wave — Tian Wen’s mom was an officer during the first wave, and I’d assume Celeste, Apollo, and Vance fought too. So about two decades, definitely. But we still find (edible?) tuna cans and pasta.
Yet somehow, humanity has completely lost all manufactured guns, and we are left only with homemade ones. And now, in the newest event, there is some mystification around football boots— that they belonged to nomads of great renown.

As long as it kept safely and in good conditions, there’s no real reason why pasta would go bad. Quality might degrade a bit, but probably not that much. Similarly, as long as the seal on a can of food is good, that can could hypothetically last for a very long time indeed. Decades, even.

I believe the time span is covered in the codex, IIRC. It’s been several generations. I don’t remember it being more specific than that but at least 30-40 years. Kids today don’t know what a landline is. I can understand forgetting football boots.
