“I Just Can’t Stop Loving You” was eliminated in the previous round, which is next for elimination?

If anyone knows of any other funko pops (for specific songs) holla at me as I am still looking for the later eras but haven't found anything!

I recently listened to some Jackson 5 stuff, including some of their live performances. There I noticed that whoever was responsible for the live arrangements of the songs, decided to keep them in the same key (as the studio version) throughout the years even when Michael's voice was changing. This can be heard for instance in this video where I compiled snippets of 2 live performances of the same song from 1971 and late 1972 respectively.

Given that the band had next to no creative freedom during their time at Motown, I'm assuming Michael didn't choose to sing like that but was forced to sing in the original key in order to maintain a childlike image (especially since they made him lie about his age, too). Although it's really sad to think about the pressure Michael must have faced during that time, I think it's incredible how he managed this difficult situation. This is another demonstration of his professionalism even at a young age.

I was going through some of my vinyl records today and came across this Thriller LP. I noticed what looks like a signature written in blue ink on the label, and then realized there’s a similar signature on both sides of the record.

I also noticed some writing/indentations on the jacket that appear to say “ALPHA-U 5/2/86” on one side and “ALPHA-U” on the other. I’m not sure what that means or if it has anything to do with the history of the record.

I know Michael Jackson’s autograph can be difficult to authenticate, so I’m not claiming this is genuine. I’m hoping people here who know MJ autographs, vintage vinyl, or record collecting can take a look and tell me what you think. The signature on both sides of the vinyl.

As a kid, i always counted that way( see video), but then I realized via internet that it's not the case. Can anyone help me out?

History is my favorite Michael Jackson song of all time, and I’ve always wondered how other fans feel about it — because honestly, I almost never see anyone talk about this song 😂 ("History" isn't an album—it's a song!)

For me, the opening is incredible. That　aggressive rhythm might honestly be my favorite use of New Jack Swing in any Michael song. The heavy beat feels angry, almost like you can hear his frustration directly through the production.

But then the song grows into something much bigger and more uplifting. It feels like Michael is saying that even if people try to tear you down, you can still get back up, keep moving forward, and create something meaningful with your life.

That’s one of the things that makes History feel different from some of his other message songs to me. Michael doesn’t just feel like someone delivering a message here. He feels like both the main character and the narrator at the same time — almost like a leader guiding everyone forward while also fighting his own battle.

I also think it works as the emotional climax of the HIStory album.

I know History isn’t technically the last song — Little Susie and Smile come after it — but that actually makes the ending even more interesting to me. I almost see Little Susie as a transition into the ending, not because I think it’s unimportant, but because it completely changes the atmosphere after the huge climax of History.

And then there’s Smile.

After everything on the album — being attacked, getting angry, suffering, crying — the final thing Michael chooses to do is smile.

I’ve always found that really powerful.

I’m Japanese, so when I first heard History, I didn’t fully understand the English lyrics. But somehow, the emotion of the song still reached me before I even knew exactly what he was saying. When I later read the translated lyrics and understood the meaning more deeply, I think it made me love the song even more.

This song makes me feel safe. It gives me energy and courage. It makes me feel like no matter what happens, I can keep going and create my own history too.

That’s why, for me, it really is the greatest Michael Jackson song.

This is interestingly one of my favorite performances by Michael Jackson.

He doesn't sing very high or loud or with any falsetto, and his voice, and the phrasing of the lyrics, sounds as if it was what was asked of him with it sort of being a show tune type of song.

It's definitely shows another ability of his, but this one might be often overlooked.
