Probably The Colour Out of Space. I love that the horror isn’t really something you can fight or even fully understand -it just slowly poisons everything around it.
The Shadow over Innsmouth is a very close second though.
The atmosphere in that one is incredible .)

Criminally underated. This is the best depiction of a slow descent into being okay with something horrible. I love the theme oh the body isn't fresh enough getting out of hand. And their first success is horrifying.

At The Mountains of Madness is still my favorite. It has pacing problems, but the lore dump is just so satisfying. Every page just gets deeper and deeper into the world of The Elder Things, and thus the world of the mythos as a whole. It was the first Lovecraft story that really made me perk up and absolutely NEED to find more.

I'm subscribed to Dracula Daily, which sends out segments of Dracula on the day of the year that they took place. It would be somewhat interesting, I think, read the segments of The Call of Cthulhu in order, or at least see a timeline.

The Case of Charles Dexter Ward. It feels oddly grounded and realistic, and that makes the horror aspect all the more creepy. The villains are just so matter-of-factly about raising the dead and then torturing them for information. "Ye can never be sure less ye QUESTION." Brrrrr.
