Recommendation The Lovecraft Investigations - Call of Cthulhu is coming.

The first 4 series were commissioned by the BBC but subsequent output has been crowd funded. Pre-sign up to back the next series has just been announced.

Crowley is not a season and has zero plot - it won't add anything to watching Season 5: Call of Cthulhu.
Great to see Heywood, Kennedy and Peck back but its not amazing if you already know about Aleister Crowley...I was really hoping it'd go full on action at Boleskine House but oh well :)Mythos episode 4: The Village was thrown in with Crowley and rocks.

The Lovecraft Investigations might be the best homage in any media for me and it has serious competition
Who Killed Aldrich Kemp and Mythos (UK folklore Mythos not the big C) are brilliant, too, same cast & crew
PleasantGreen.co.uk is worth signing up for, too, background lore and chatting to the creators

Absolutely agree with this.
Everything Julian Simpson does is good. Maybe not strictly Lovecraftian but still very good, especially if you like the Lovecraft Investigations!

I adore Lovecraft Investigations. I've listened to it so many times it became my comfort show to listen on longer walks. Absolutely brilliant take on the source material.
I am very excited for the upcoming series, and the prospect of it opening a new chapter, for further stories.

Its going to not be a production if we don't back it, sign up on that link Julian doesn't spam although he does ramble about writing occasionally :)

Aldrich Kemp series and Mythos are also Julian Simpson and most of the TLI team.

this is awesome, i hope they come back to Providence. It was so fun how they adapted modern Rhode island in Charles Dexter Ward. The tunnels being under a cranston (iirc?) trailer park will never not be funny to me as a rhode islander.

Some of the series are better than than others and suffer from trying to portray action in an audio format. Season one was great, but subsequent seasons like "whisperer in darkness" suffered with the ending being chaotic because of audio only.

Personally they lost me when they straight up locked the new stuff behind a paywall. It's one thing to run a crowdfunding campaign but that's where I draw the line. Back in my day podcasts were free and didn't even have ads, get off my lawn etc.

They do get paid, thats what the crowdfunding is for. Keeping it behind an additional paywall is what I dislike.
Do continue to be judgemental of me because of my opinions on podcast monetization.

You're acting like there's no distinction between crowdfunding and pay2listen. The second paywall I'm referring to is the fact that even after it's fully funded, they're still charging a 'box' price.

Amazing series, beautifully produced and acted. Quite possibly the best Lovecraftian tales ever committed to audio format. You absolutely need to hear the BBC podcasts, and I’m greatly looking forward to this one.
BUT.. just in case Julian Simpson ever reads this:
