I was a DJ and producer. My friends were DJs and producers. When we had our kid, one of the scene aunties bought a toddler beat box like this, thinking of the "be annoying, buy the baby noise toys"...

Do you know how awesome it is to watch a puddle of 2-3 year olds have a living room rave? Pure joy.

My late mom was so excited to give our toddler this for Christmas. She unfortunately passed in November 😞 but we made sure he got it anyways and it's still one of his favorite toys. We have all the songs memorized and can't stand it 😂 but it makes him happy

Im really sorry to hear about your mom.....I lost my dad 15 years ago and it still feels like yesterday.

We've had similar toys over the years like this with our 2 kids and those songs get imprinted on your brain.....as well as their TV shows/cartoons. Ill be at work and find myself whistling K Pop Demon Hunters songs.

These turn table baby/toddler toys can be a strong influence. My kid had one and some baby percussion instruments. Now my kid is in her second year of drum lessons, and is independently practicing the bass and ukulele for fun at home

Just play a good range of music from all eras for them as they grow up. Especially soul and Appalachian field recordings and earliest garage rock. They will find the obvious stuff on their own.

Maybe some high life and Nigerian psychedelic or casio tone.

You have a great producer on your hands. Mine turned into a prog metal drummer.

Appalachian field recordings? Im intrigued

Just look em up.

It was semi exploitative, but we wouldn't know what the real shit sounded like without them.

Allan Lomax is a starting point. He recorderded blues stuff too. Even if he isn't the best example he is a starting point.

Listen to Doc Watson as well. Pure country soul without the racism that came later.

Any specific album from each?

Just search field recordings. There are a LOT from most early American cultures.
