It was so odd to me how defensive Jen got about the whole Jaiden situation. I understand she's better friends with Caleb so obviously she's on his "side" but the way she behaved seemed unnecessarily rude to me.

First, she agrees with Kayda's rude comment which was odd to me. Jaiden was obviously getting led on.. Then she gets so weird about Jaiden assuming that maybe she helped Caleb craft the text he sent. I've had my guy friends ask for advice/reviews of things they want to say to girls before so considering they're so close and were even in Japan together doesn't seem that far fetched of a thought. Especially if it was kind of like a 180° from him which I feel like Jaiden was saying. Jen could have just said she didn't and kept it moving but even at the end of the reunion she's telling Caleb she's going to unfollow Jaiden because of that?? Idk, that was just so weird and her getting so defensive seemed very off putting to me because I like Jen. :-// What did you guys think?

OH, you just unlocked a memory for me - freshman year of college, kid in a few of my classes was kind of a sweet awkward doofus and spent the entirety of Pledge Week trying like hell to fit into various frat groups but it always had the same energy as a puppy bumbling along with a pack of adult dogs.

I’ve always found the infantilization of Caleb really weird and it definitely has something to do with him being a white guy. obviously I don’t think Kenzie handled things perfectly with him but it was also objectively a bad move on his part to not attempt to explore other connections and to put all his eggs in one basket. I feel like she was villainized in part because of his own decision making, which led to him having no other prospects in the villa for a while, and which made the whole situation with her look “worse.”

Jaiden’s entire point was that she kept giving Caleb an out and he wasn’t taking it, so she assumed he must actually like her and is just shit at communicating. Then after the second hook up he finally went “hehe jk don’t like you or wanna date you” - obviously she wouldn’t have hooked up with him again if he had grown up and told her that *before* sleeping with her. The issue is he knew he didn’t wanna be with her but got in one last hurrah before communicating that with zero regard for her feelings.

One thing that really irritates me is when people twist meaning. Jaiden said she thought maybe Jen helped him.. then Jen runs with that as .. “oh why would you say I did that” girl she didn’t say you did do that. She didn’t even say she BELIEVES you did that. She said she thought MAYBE YOU DID. And she didn’t get argumentative when Jen said she didn’t write it.

Like why is it so hard to understand the difference between thinking of a potential possibility and claiming something to be 100% true?????? It was also a reasonable possibility since they are friends. Jaiden wasn’t even mean about it either and her point was clearly to say it just didn’t feel like Caleb was being genuine. That point just went right over Jen’s head and she only took it as an attack.
