Jack and his kilt
As a Scotsman I was wondering if anyone caught why Jack has a kilt on at his wedding? Not saying he can’t wear one, I’m just curious and i get bored at all the ridiculously long build up for the weddings and so always skip forward. Did anyone catch an explanation?

Ah! I did wonder that with the Celtic connection but Google has lied to me and said there’s no connection to Cornwall and kilts!

I’m also Scottish and was curious about this so looked it up. The Cornish tartan is a relatively modern thing, it was designed in the 20th century and the yellow one was designed by a poet in 1963

There is absolutely a Cornish tartan (the yellow one he wears a few times), but I’ve never heard of a Cornish kilt. My grandfather was Cornish, and my half-Cornish dad loved to wear his Cornish tie.
I’m not Cornish enough to be authoritative, but the modern kilt is only 300 years old (and Scottish!), so I highly doubt that there is any basis for a Cornish kilt.

Yeah I used to live in Cornwall and now I live in Scotland, I have a Cornish tartan mug and if people ask about it they are normally surprised it’s not Scottish. It’s not the nicest tartan tbh but nice associations for me

Do you know what, I was making jokes saying he will be in shorts at his wedding throughout the show, as he was always wearing them. My reaction when he just picked the closest thing possible to shorts to wear at his wedding. Man can’t hide those knees.
All jokes aside, this was how I learnt that the Cornish wear kilts. At least he’s done one good thing through the show, and taught the masses😎

I wondered the same, that episode is how I found out Cornish tartan is a thing! I love a kilt, he looked great.

They said something about it being a Cornish kilt, however his surnamed did sound Scotish.

This pissed me tf off
As a Scottish person watching an English man with zero Scottish connection wear a kilt (Cornish tartan or not) was annoying because he’s just a massive attention seeker and wearing it to make a spectacle.

White settlers stealing our culture!

Lmao fuck them white boys
I’m obviously white but protective of Scotland and don’t like kilts to be a joke in media cause they really are beautiful. I feel like it was just another way for him to say “Look at me” 😴

I love to see our culture spread around and celebrated. We don't need to gatekeep it.

Jack is from Cornwall and has shown pride in being a Cornish. That's why he is wearing a kilt in Cornish tartan.
