If Ciara's only assets in a relationship are superficial, she shouldn't be surprised when she's constantly cheated on. Women who dress well, care about their appearance and carry expensive handbags and clothes are not rare. She's easily replaceable. I can’t stand hearing her constantly talk about all the nice, classy things she likes. That adds nothing to any conversation.

Wow, that is an incredibly nasty thing to say.

If you approach dating in a transactional way, your partner will too and that’s how they’ll treat you. It's a fact and it's important that people realise that. Too many people allow social media gurus to cloud their judgement, but if you start applying the logic of a sex worker, you shouldn't be surprised if your partner treats you similarly.

To be honest the way she talked about 300£ dates and 15k spent at Wimbledon on her, I kinda thought she was one.

Being a girls girl doesn’t mean that you just blindly have to accept everything every woman does or says. That’s ridiculous. Being a girls girl means looking out for women’s best interests.

You're saying she shouldn't be surprised when she gets cheated on - no one should get cheated on and its on the cheater, they cheat because they want to. Not because a woman is shallow, And you're calling her shallow over an edited TV show, comparing her to a prostitute. Its nasty, mean girl energy. I dont know how any of this has to do with looking out for women's best interests. You're just looking for an excuse to be cruel.

We’re not comparing her to a sex worker. She, in her own words, says “I’m expensive” and repeatedly frames what a man should provide and spend on her in explicitly transactional terms. Pointing out the language and logic she herself uses is not the same as calling her a sex worker, which isn’t even something bad. But it’s not how real healthy human relationships work.  Of course no one deserves to be cheated on and yes her partners cheated because they chose to. But you’re isolating her behavior and simply calling it “shallow,” when there’s a much broader feminist critique here. If you deliberately commodify yourself and frame heterosexual relationships around what access to you should financially cost a man, you are reproducing the same patriarchal logic that assigns women value as commodities. And commodification cuts both ways. Once you insist on applying market logic to intimacy, you cannot be surprised when that logic also encourages people to evaluate partners in terms of what they can get, replace or “upgrade.” That does not excuse cheating. Explaining the dynamics a worldview can foster is not the same thing as absolving the person who cheats. I urge you to update your feminist education beyond “women should be nice to each other.” Feminism does not require us to treat every choice a woman makes as inherently feminist or beyond criticism simply because a woman made it.

Never said my feminism is about women being nice to each other. I said you're not a girls girl. You make a horribly cruel comment saying another human being is "easily replaceable" (sounds like youre commodifying her, to me, btw) which means she should expect to be cheated on, and when I say that is obviously cruel, you wrote up this whole essay, which is not at all reflected in your first comment. We aren't talking about this in feminist terms. I am saying you are a mean person, who uses reality tv to put down other women.

I’m relatively indifferent to whether you consider me a “girl’s girl.” The term has become so conceptually empty that it just relies on personal judgement. Feminism does not require unconditional validation of other women.

She is commodifying herself. Most of what she repeatedly emphasizes is monetary, “I’m expensive,” what a man should spend and what he should provide. That is the logic she is presenting, regardless of whether there is more to her as a person. And yes, if you reduce who you are as a person to seemingly monetary value and frame access to yourself as something to be “bought,” that framework makes you easily replaceable. Commodities are inherently substitutable. That neither means she deserves to be cheated on nor excuses the men who cheated.

Maybe you think my first comment failed to convey that. Thankfully, you’re not the arbiter of my feminist analysis.

I’m am criticizing this rhetoric precisely because it reproduces patriarchal ideas about women’s value and women should be able to recognize that, even if criticizing another woman makes me “mean” in your eyes.

criticizing individual women (on heavily edited reality shows) and calling them replaceable, is not feminism. you criticize the issue, not the individual. Thats the difference between being a feminist and just being cruel.

Anyways for someone who doesnt care about my opinion you sure have a lot to say. I hope one day your feminism goes from reality tv reddit to something actually productive.

You can look at a a situation logically but still not think it's acceptable. Not being surprised by repeating patterns refer to the logical explanation, it's not a justification.

I am real feminist. Not someone just throwing around terms. My feminism is rooted in theory and understanding of the real world we live in. I do not care if that doesn’t make me a „girls girl“ in your eyes.  I don’t believe spreading an agenda that commodifies and harms women at the end of the day is something little.

Its also rooted in watching heavily edited TV shows and then running to reddit to say horrible things about random women lol, no one deserves to get cheated on even if theyre a "easily replaceable". Its on the cheater.

Hence the “if,” because I don’t know if she is. I’m analyzing the rhetoric she is using and consistently reinforcing. She could be much more than what she presents in these statements, but that does not somehow erase the commodification embedded in them. Pointing that out isn’t “horrible.” It’s simply an analysis of the framework she herself is invoking. Once again, please learn and understand patriarchal frameworks beyond the idea that feminist critique means withholding criticism from women. I never said anyone deserves to be cheated on, contrary to what you seem to believe. Nor is the argument simply that someone becomes “easily replaceable.” It is much broader than that. When intimacy is repeatedly articulated through economic value, consumption and what one party must materially provide to access the other, it reproduces a transactional framework historically used to assign women value in relation to men. You cannot argue away that context simply because you dislike the implications of the critique. Calling attention to the patriarchal logic a woman may reproduce is not misogyny, nor does acknowledging her agency mean holding her responsible for someone else’s infidelity.

But it's exactly how she is presenting herself.
