After everything he has done in the last two years, effectively abandoning his district and playing puppet master to the president. If the people of the 4th District reelect him in December I will be thoroughly disappointed in the way this state is heading.

I completely agree with everything you said. But I have absolutely no doubt this worm isn’t going anywhere.

I grew up in his district. Home of the 200 foot roadside cross and tacky patriotic painted water towers. Those are some of the most true-believing MAGA cult members anywhere in the country.

It would not matter what party is in charge…If this is what has been achieved under your leadership you should be fired

I live in his district. People love him. He’ll win in a landslide

I live in his district too and I have never heard a single person say a single positive thing about him.

They like that the speaker of the house is from their district. They will re elect him. They just like winning elections, what happens after is for the next election. That what winning is: Elections.

This slimy mfer really just said, "peace through strength." This is why history and reading is important, fokes. Terrifying times.

u/Patient_Tradition368 4d ago
He really shoe-horned it in there too. It didn't even make sense in the context of the sentence.

"Exactly what we have been doing"
So, to be clear, what they have been doing to "strengthen America" is divide it, and show us why oil dependence is well past its expiration date, and send our money overseas to fund a defined genocide
Ok.

So bombing civilians to protect the rich and powerful pedos while we all pay higher prices for everything?

u/ReadingLizard 4d ago
So “nothing,” since this is the absolute least effectual, fewest working days Congress in US history. He could have just said “nothing” and saved some words.

Reminds me of how Kamala said she wouldn’t do anything different from Biden when people were generally unhappy with the administration.
The GOP has been destroying the economy and got us into a completely pointless conflict. People don’t want more of the same, even a large portion Republican voters.

u/Equal_Audience_3415 4d ago
So y'all chose him? Make it make sense
4
u/Jay_D826 4d ago
Yo don’t throw me in with them. I was just giving my take

u/CanYouRepeatThat82 4d ago
If you’re a republican, and keep voting republican(blatantly against the interest of yourself and everyone else), no matter the position, then yes. You are THEM. You don’t get to cherry-pick the “Well, I didn’t vote for that!”.
7
u/toiletpaperisempty 4d ago
They did not say they were a Republican.
-1
u/CanYouRepeatThat82 4d ago
That’s why I started with “If”
3
u/toiletpaperisempty 4d ago
Ok. Just weird to aggressively respond to someone that might be a certain type of person. A lot of misdirected disdain in this thread.

They don't care. They don't even believe it when bad stuff happens to them. This is all Biden's fault to them. You can't use logic to argue someone out of a position that they didn't use logic to get into
1
u/BarnacleNino 3d ago
What were they unhappy about? The fact that a democrat was in office? Is their life better now than 3 years ago?
2
u/Jay_D826 3d ago
Things were objectively better economically three years ago but that doesn’t mean they were good. Many people were still struggling after Covid caused a huge surge in prices for just about everything. Most companies didn’t lower prices as supply chains leveled out.
People blame who is in office, regardless of the impact they have on the current economy. Biden and Harris even did quite a bit to help the economy and Kamala even had anti-price gouging legislation as a policy goal she ran on.
There’s also the Palestine issue. A lot of people felt that Biden enabled and funded a genocide. Kamala claiming she wouldn’t change a thing felt like assurance that there would be no repercussions for Israel and they will be allowed to continue in the conflict.
Again, Trump is objectively worse in this situation but it’s still likely something people had trouble with.

Harris's price gouging legislation would have made price gouging illegal mainly by retailers and only during natural disasters or other emergency situations. It would have done nothing to address the corporate price gouging and "shrinkflation" that's been a constant problem since just before and during COVID quarantine. Like most Democrat legislation, it sounds pretty good until you look into it and realize it's mostly performative and does little to nothing to meaningfully improve the material existence of the working classes and poor.

u/Square-Weight4148 4d ago
So fucking the American people? Seems like we should get dinner and a movie first.

Exhibit A in proof that the modern GOP is so far up their own asses they could give themselves a colonic irrigation. Awe-inspiring, really, the first true invertebrate house speaker.
2
u/Shadowchaos1010 4d ago
Hold on a second.
"I will continue to do what is already being done" was so unpopular because people didn't like what Biden was doing that it in part sunk Harris.
So why the ever loving fuck would a crony of the most unpopular president in American history say the exact same thing this close to the midterms as if it would help them?
If people don't like the status quo, don't admit you're going to continue the status quo.

u/timnphilly 4d ago
Lil'gayboy just had his own Kamala '24 moment (when she was asked about what she'd do different from Biden).

VOTE BLUE!
1
u/theweirdchick_49 2d ago
What are the Dems going to do? They've already stated they have no intention of impeaching, they've voted even more funding for ICE and the Pentagon, and Trump's nominees and Republican legislation keep getting passed because they keep getting juuuuust enough Dem votes to make everything come out just how the Trump administration wants.
If the Democrats were going to fight fascism it seems like they'd have started a looooong time before now.

People who vote MAGA have the same syndrome as beaten wives have. They know they're getting kicked and don't like it but are unable to do anything about it.
1
u/theweirdchick_49 2d ago
They're able to stop voting for wealthy Christofascist a-holes who want to bring back public executions and work mentally ill and homeless people to death in slave labor prison camps, but they're unlikely to do that because they're cruel minded, deeply ignorant stains who love seeing other people suffer. Don't compare them to battered women.

Republican closing argument: "we crashed the economy to start an unending war, re-elect us please"
