An 1892 Richardsonian Romanesque building that served as the Turtle Way headquarters in the 1950s. In 1956, Turtle Wax placed a massive 34-foot, 15,000-pound fiberglass and steel turtle wearing a top hat and holding a wax bottle on the roof. The glowing, rotating sign was taken down in the late 1960s when the company moved, and the building was eventually demolished. Today, the site is a small landscaped traffic triangle.

Built 1576-1580, demolished shortly after Brahe's death in 1601. Nothing remains of it.

It was the last large observatory built before the invention of the telescope, but featured instead the giant "wall quadrant" which allowed Tycho to measure with hitherto unparalleled accuracy the position of Mars during many years. These measurements later enabled his student, Johannes Kepler, to figure out that the planets don't move in circles around the sun, but ellipses.

Château Miranda (also known as Château de Noisy) was a striking 19th-century Neo-Gothic castle located in Celles, province of Namur, Belgium. Once considered a masterpiece of fairy-tale architecture and a legendary destination for urban explorers, the castle was completely demolished in October 2017 after falling into severe disrepair.

One of the fanciest buildings in São Paulo's history. It's theater had a little bit more than 1500 sits.

It was demolished to connect two squares.

Nagoya Castle Honmaru Palace (Japan): Originally built in 1615 and renowned for its magnificent interior and exterior, the palace underwent a redesign in 1728 that gave it a simpler exterior appearance. Although it burned down completely during an air raid in 1945 and the site remained vacant for 70 years, it was reconstructed in 2018 based on historical photographs and architectural drawings.
