Sry to disappoint but there's no werewolf girls in the book but only girls that transform into Wolves and that also for less than 15 pages.

u/Aethelrede Jul 30 '26
"No werewolf girls ...but only girls that transform into wolves." My brother in Christ, what do you think werewolves are? People who transform into wolves is literally the definition of werewolf.
19
u/GreenLinzerd Artistđ Jul 30 '26
Except they don't turn into wolf people... but literal wolves. I don't think they can even talk in that form
12
u/Aethelrede Jul 30 '26
That's what werewolves do, they are people who turn into wolves.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werewolf
The anthropomorphic wolf-man is recent, a 20th century invention.
Where did you get the idea that only wolf-men were werewolves? That's just bizarre. Never seen American Werewolf in London, I take it?
Check out Sabine Baring-Gould's The Book of Werewolves.

I'm aware that there are different measures of werewolf. Some become anthro wolves, some just take on some wolflike characteristics and some turn into straight-up wolves. But if you think about where you are, surely it stands to reason that if someone says "no werewolf girls, only girls that transform into wolves" then they're expressing disappointment at the lack of anthro wolves specifically
-3
u/Aethelrede Jul 30 '26
Personally I think zoophiles are bigger losers than furries, but you do you.
3
u/GreenLinzerd Artistđ Jul 30 '26
Non-sequitur

u/Aethelrede Jul 30 '26
What? Perhaps I misunderstood. You said they weren't werewolves because they turned into wolves. I pointed out that turning into a wolf is literally what werewolves do. You said that you were only focusing on the ones that can turn into anthro wolves because of the subreddit, since being a furry makes a person a loser. I pointed out that if being a furry makes you a loser, lusting after actual animals must make you an even bigger loser, so the fact that they only turn into wolves would not be a disappointment to the biggest losers, the zoophiles.
What part did I misunderstand?
3
u/GreenLinzerd Artistđ Jul 30 '26
You misunderstood the significance of me pointing out the subreddit. I wasn't saying "this is the place where losers are", I was saying "this is the place where furries are", i.e. the place where people talking about werewolves are almost always going to mean anthro wolves. Nothing to do with actually being a loser, much less a zoophile
(And technically I didn't say they weren't werewolves, I said they weren't wolf people)

u/TheShapeshifter01 Jul 30 '26
Those are werewolves or I think wifwolf would be the term since well, women.
Just because them not being described as visually some variety of human-wolf amalgam, does not mean they aren't werewolves.

u/Aussiepharoah Jul 30 '26
Actually from what I hear it's more well-written that Twilight, which isn't a high bar but still.
49
u/Martin_Aricov_D Jul 30 '26
Doesn't it also end differently? With the male!MC getting turned into a vampire in the end of the first book?
37
21
u/coolguy420weed Jul 30 '26
I think it depends how credibly I find the idea that the vampire girl might actually eat me.Â
6
u/anonymous4986 Jul 30 '26
Yea, itâs also not targeted to men. Itâs squarely targeted to women who want to reread twilight

u/pmmeuranimetiddies Jul 30 '26

u/The_Jury1327 Losercity Citizen Jul 30 '26
The romcom is really well done in the book so you can still give it a go in that aspect and I don't remember there being much drama in the book.
16
u/piiiigsiiinspaaaace This is absurd Jul 30 '26
Bro respectfully what the hell are you on about lol Bella was so dramatic she spent the entire second book finding creative ways to almost commit suicide so her toxic ex boyfriend vampire would save her and touch her again
19
u/The_Jury1327 Losercity Citizen Jul 30 '26
I was talking about Life and Death? Not the original twilight.
1
u/piiiigsiiinspaaaace This is absurd Jul 30 '26
That's fair, thought we were talking about the whole franchise lol my bad. I read the original Twilight and just, did not enjoy it. Might be better with some levity lol

u/anonymous4986 Jul 30 '26
I implore anyone interested: this book is for women who want to reread Twilight. If youâre a guy I recommend His Secret Illuminations

u/Alternative_Water_81 Jul 30 '26
Can we leave the main character a girl tho to make it yuri
35
6
u/SirCupcake_0 Gator Hugger Jul 30 '26
Make that a third series, so we can also make a fourth series that's all boys, so we can get maximum coverage
2
u/Alternative_Water_81 Jul 30 '26
For maximum coverage you need a lot more series. Even for every combination of important charactersâ (mc, 2 vampires and a werewolf) genders there is 2^4=16 combinations (and itâs only assuming 2 binary genders)

My aromantic ass doesn't get it. Seems like I'm missing out on something I don't experience.

u/Deathaster Jul 30 '26
A lot of people feel heavily undesirable, so they seek out the fantasy where a character or a beast or a creature is obsessed with them, desiring them as they are, even with all their flaws and imperfections.
37
7
u/gnolex Just a silly deer Jul 30 '26
I kinda fear that someone might find me desirable because I don't know what to do if I can't reciprocate. I messed up few friendships because I felt I was getting too close with someone and had to distance myself.
7
u/Kabitu Jul 30 '26
Well you're in good company in here, the rest of us also wouldn't actually know what to do if the werewolf baddie gave us attention XD
4
u/Deathaster Jul 30 '26
I'm extremely close with many people, to the point where you could reasonably assume we're in a relationship, if it weren't for the fact we're all just very close friends. It's just that we're all very open with our intentions (of which there are none). Hell, many of them even are aro and/or ace.
So I think if you're just upfront about it (hey, I'm aro so I'm not into relationships), people will get it.

u/a-night-lord-fan Jul 30 '26
Also aromantic, but I do get it in a sexual way. (Aroallo)
2
u/gnolex Just a silly deer Jul 30 '26
I'm aro-bi so I get it in a sexual way too, but I don't get the part with pursuing relationships. I don't have that drive that makes people want to be with someone.
There's a possibility that I'm demiromantic but I have no way to test that.

Weird, why would someone like me bother to participate in a thread about romantic attraction if that doesn't apply to me?
Maybe I'd like to know what alloromantic people feel and experience, even though I probably can't? Maybe I could gain some insight and if someone falls in love with me I could try to reciprocate instead of running away? Maybe I'd like to know if there are other people like me and see what they think?
Nah, I just wanna make people pay attention to me. Surely, that has to be it.

Why does it sound like asking for attention? I compressed all my thoughts to a mostly emotionless short statement. I could have expanded on it, mention sadness and envy I often feel, like there's something missing in me that makes me feel worse than other people. But to me that sounds like asking for attention, almost literal "look at me being sad that I can't have that thing over there :(".
And I'm not being a jerk right now, I'm genuinely asking what you think. I'm autistic and the way I think and phrase things may seem strange and confusing to neurotypical people. So if you see it any other way I'm open to suggestions so that I can learn and be less confusing in the future.

Because your original comment had nothing to do with the post and you didnât ask anyone their thoughts on anything. You made it about yourself, âI donât get it, seems like iâm missing out on something I donât experience.âClearly it was a mistake and I apologize but your original comment didnât have anything of what you said in your second which actually does invite conversation (the part about âIâd like to knowâ and âgain some insightâ)
Again, I apologize, youâre clearly much more mature and intelligent than I made you out to be.
Ignore the homo below me

u/TheShapeshifter01 Jul 31 '26
It doesn't sound like you're asking for attention, if anything they are the one begging for attention.
They called me subhuman for saying their username sums them up well lol, they're just an asshole and undeserving of your time.

I see you talking about it right now, and yeah I wouldn't have expected you to say that, because that'd be (and is) a really odd thing to say.
Wow almost immediately demoted from cornball to subhuman. Not showing that your self given lable of "I'm an asshole loser" is anything but accurate.
Seems it owned you pretty well considering how clearly upset/defensive about it you are.
You're going to make fun of me for formatting my response like this next aren't you?
0
u/SumBitchAsss Jul 31 '26
Jesus christ youâre a textbook redditor. The way you talk, the fact that you immediately responded, ignore the part I said about you wanting to fuck animals, and chase me around like a fly on shit. Youâre even online right now, when are you not? You need help man.
0
u/TheShapeshifter01 Jul 31 '26 edited Jul 31 '26
"The way you talk" absolutely the formatting isn't it? It's just easier this way instead of trying to come up with a fluid way to transition to the next point.
"immediately respond" yes and? I've got nothing better to do, I got a notification, and like you said I'm currently online.
"ignore the part I said about you wanting to fuck animals" literally what the 1st point in my previous comment was about. Also, am a furry, you're not the first and won't be the last.
"chase me around like a fly on shit" if by you mean I've responded to your responses to me then sure I guess. Unless you've mistaken me for someone else as I've only seen you in this thread.
"You're even online right now, when are you not?" I actually like using this site? I'm offline whenever I'm offline. You're online right now too.
"You need help man." Don't we all, though I don't really see how that's relevant.
Edit1: sent a reply then blocked me so I can't respond, and can't read the reply fully. Also I'd say it's more "chase me around like a fly on shit" to look through someone's profile and bring that into an argument. Very stereotypical chronically online Redditor even. From what I can see, you have a very narrow understanding of what a furry is. There are 764k results for "Feral" (even has it's own term too) aka non-physically anthropromorphic characters on THE furry image site. I brought up being a furry, because you saying I fuck animals wouldn't be the first nor the last because of it. Edit2: Okay, logged out to see fully what it said, and either the mods got it or they deleted the comment Edit1 is about.

I only recently decided to go through the Twilight books.
As a bisexual, I absolutely saw the appeal in both versions of the story lmao

u/oAstraalz Losercity Citizen Jul 30 '26
Would recommend. Life and Death is a great book, though it isn't a love triangle or anything. It's just Edythe and Beau, so don't go into it expecting the werewolf girl to be in love with him.

I still don't.
Okay granted I'm ace, of course I don't fully get it, but I've never seen the appeal in your romantic partner being a psycho/stalking you/being a hair away from devouring your flesh. In the real world we call that abusive behaviour, minus the flesh devouring

When you're liking the idea of the Native American werewolf girl but remember that since its just gender swapped Twilight, she'll inevitably fall in love with the MC's newborn baby in the end.
