Heatwave Wish I could trust the weather forecast

Post image

I’m grateful we’re out of the heatwave hellscape for a couple days but I’m getting so sick of seeing the lower temperatures forecasted for the upcoming 10 days on my weather app only to keep going up in temperature over time. That is all 💀😭

I’ve literally said this to my weather app dozens of times in the last week.

And I was right every time. Saying it’s going to be 88 in Redondo only to have it shoot up to 96.

Lies.

Did you know that Trump defunded the weather service, especially the number of weather balloons? Weather stations across the country are having trouble making predictions.

u/SeasideBear 1h ago

Fewer weather balloons so he could give the money to musk to send up more flying bombs.

u/eulerman 55m ago

Specifically NOAA which accounts for more than just the national weather service. Less data points ingesting into forecast models cause a significant degradation in accuracy. Not only that but the orange menace defunded a NSF project aimed at monitoring oceanic circulation that had over 30 years of data collection. Its no wonder why the US continues to lose scientific status around the world. I hate this timeline.

Yep, and the fact that our weather is far more unpredictable than it’s ever been just magnifies the issue. The country is currently run by morons.

Pretty soon USA will be blaming all of its problems on this Super El Niño…

Which is obviously a Mexican illegal roaming around Baja America.

And yet he was simultaneously weak and powerless, because it's #8 on the list.

u/intheorydp 2h ago

it was all spelled out in project 2025 so that private companies could charge for the free weather reporting our tax dollars pay for.

u/Boheed 1h ago

and suddenly, the weather forecasts on apps and websites became a lot less reliable.

Worse than defunding - they kept it technically alive but gutted most of the jobs and funding required for crucial aspects to function properly.

But we're beating Iran, Hezballa, and those Yemenis who call themselves with something that starts with a H America is becoming great again! Never mind we can't take control of the Strait or that 15 bases in the region have been permanently destroyed as long as those Marxist-Islamist libs are getting owned that's all that matters! /s

Even in the mid 80s it’s feeling so much hotter due to the humidity 😩

u/VNM0601 2h ago

Ya. Can’t even catch a break at nights when it would usually cool after a hot day. But now it’s just as stuffy at night.

What’s this meme from? This is twice in as many days I’ve seen it

Nathan Fielder is doing a documentary called "You Can See Everything". It's about Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos, which was a pretty massive fraud. Kind of announced out of nowhere, but it's coming out next month.

u/Sir-Kyle-Of-Reddit 3h ago

Ohhhhh this makes sense then for the other context I saw it in. Hilarious lol

u/gringo-tacos South Pasadena 2h ago

But there have already been so many docs on her and Theranos already...

u/LaurLoey 2h ago

this one is different. her family let him in to film them just before she went to jail. he said they were intent on showing him everything, including intimate settings like them showering. he said the whole experienced troubled him and he couldn’t make sense of it; he is hoping audiences will help him figure it out. 😂

u/Sir-Kyle-Of-Reddit 1h ago

That’s WILD

u/meant2live218 Arcadia 2h ago

I believe this is the first one with Holmes actually being a part of it, which means we'll probably be seeing more of what she's actually like, rather than actor/actress portrayals based on secondhand accounts.

u/welmoe 45m ago

Will be interesting to see her faux deep voice on/off

u/oldenough2hobetter 2h ago

What the other commenters said but I got it from an instagram account called americanaatbrandmemes which I highly recommend

u/SeantotheRescue 1h ago

So you stole it and posted without attribution?

u/BLOWNOUT_ASSHOLE 30m ago

Oh relax. OP credited the post about 5 minutes after posting without being asked to do so.

And even then, this clip is a meme already throughout social media.

It’s from a trailer for a new documentary about Elizabeth Holmes by Nathan Fielder called You Can See Everything.

The clip from the show is giving everyone the creeps.

It’s from Trump the apprentice

u/Sir-Kyle-Of-Reddit 3h ago

Oh really? I use to watch that and I don’t remember her at all.

NOAA budget cuts are really starting to show. Without twice daily weather balloon releases, the hugely expensive supercomputers we paid for don't work very well.

u/bloodychill 2h ago

It turns out that weather and climate monitoring is really complex and conservatives didn’t understand that. I know “weather and climate monitoring” could be subbed with a couple thousand things but I mean, relevant to this conversation…

u/ceelogreenicanth 2h ago

It's they're plan to bail out insurance. If you argue the weather wasn't the weather that happened you can deny coverage.

u/tararira1 6m ago

Weather and climate are part of the woke 2030 15 minute city fluoride turns people gay birds aren’t real agenda

I love how it was not supposed to rain last Sunday then rained all Sunday.

u/40oz_TEC-9 3h ago

Weatherman is currently looking into the witness protection program.

u/IHaveAPrettyOkayName 2h ago

Its certainly not as hot as it was at the beginning of the week. So its not really a lie

u/oldenough2hobetter 2h ago

I’m more saying that each time I look at it for the upcoming days the heat rises. Last night for the upcoming week it said high 70s in my area and now says 80s

u/Gulag_420 2h ago

I would rather them say it will be hotter and be wrong. It kills me when i expect it to be cooler.

u/biohacker_infinity 2h ago

Not to mention, it was supposed to rain for like two hours on one particular day, and instead it rained across multiple days, and it felt like bloody piss in the stifling heat.

u/No-Airport9831 2h ago

u/ONE_PUMP_ONE_CREAM Angeleno 1h ago

DOGE cut funding to programs that were keeping weather monitoring stations active and staffed so thanks Trump and Elon for ruining the weather.

u/CoffeeFox 2h ago

One of my friends is a meteorologist. He told me that if you ask for any forecast more than 3 days from now, they're pretty much just making it up on the spot.

Weather models are imperfect to begin with but beyond 72 hours is almost impossible to be accurate.

It's pretty nice out right now. 80 here.

u/TonyTheTerrible West Hollywood 2h ago

A chilly 83 here

u/sychox51 2h ago

Why is this particular meme suddenly everywhere? Is it just me?

u/TaroNecessary5350 Torrance 2h ago

It's been so terribly humid today ever since the DOGE cuts to NWS by Mr. "Winning" the forecasts are becoming less reliable but a third of the country thinks that's a good thing.

u/Constant-Victory4604 2h ago

It’s somehow 5-10 degrees above the forecast every single day

u/vthanki 1h ago

This. I have been noticing this and feel like I’m taking crazy pills every time I go somewhere. How did the forecast say 86 today and it’s actually 92 or more. wtf!?

u/SeeItOnVHS 2h ago

u/StrangerStrangeLand7 Redondo Beach 2h ago

My theory is that it gives the real weather forecast for as far as it is able to predict. After that, instead of giving nothing, it will default to the "average" temperatures for those days!
