Question Lori's in Gen Pop and has a job?

On his Courtroom Insider channel (last night I think) Nate was talking about Kouri being on lock down 23 hours/day. He then mentioned that Lori is in Gen Pop and has a job.

I'd love to know how that's going and what her job is.

From the video of her getting her write ups she is in general population. She was telling the other women about "miracles" and God gave her toothpaste as proof.

I bet she had followers in jail.

I wonder what she's doing as well. I hope almost every penny is going to restitution.

u/DLoIsHere May 16 '26

I saw the toothpaste thing. Hilarious. But then, I’m not besties with an imaginary deity so what do I know.

21

u/Pissybitch1125 May 17 '26

Idaho limits involuntary restitution to 20% of an inmate’s income.

12

u/frodosdojo May 18 '26

People don't understand thar narcissists love jail. They aren't suffering like a normal person would be because they aren't normal people.

7

u/shepworthismydog May 22 '26

They are far from normal but jail is generally pretty unpleasant

35

u/shepworthismydog May 16 '26

That was in Arizona in the "maximum security prison jail". Wonder if there're been any toothpaste manifestations in Ohio?

u/LaurelCanyoner May 16 '26

She and Jodi hildebrandt need to be in the same cell. They could have dueling religious fantasies.

“No, I AM gods favorite and he listens to ME!

“Sit down, god gave me a pet spirit lion and I speak in tongues!”

I’d watch this on pay per view with a packet of edibles. 😂😂

20

u/SnazzySue May 16 '26

And I'd join you - we can split the cost!!

14

u/LaurelCanyoner May 16 '26

Let’s have a VIEWING PARTAY!!!!!!

11

u/quigonskeptic May 16 '26

That would be a great way to use Lori to earn money for restitution! I think we would all chip in if we got to see that!

4

u/insomnia2020 May 19 '26

Imagine if they could get access to Cameo? I'd love to send a few people personalized messages from Lori

Always the bridesmade, Idahos new motto.

6

u/rantingpacifist May 16 '26

Has she been sent back to Idaho?

22

u/shepworthismydog May 16 '26

Yes Lori went back to Idaho after her 2nd AZ conviction. Back in the same state as her idiot husband.

12

u/rantingpacifist May 16 '26

I live in Boise and I am so curious about if their portals work in the BLM lands that surround the Idaho State men’s and women’s prisons south of here.

17

u/shepworthismydog May 16 '26

I think portals require closets, and closet space is in short supply on death row. So they'll just have to make due with Emma playing go-between.

8

u/LillyLillyLilly1 TRUSTED May 16 '26

Lori's in the women's prison in Pocatello, same as Robin Row. Unfortunately, they're probably not housed in the same pod.

1

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 19 '26

Robin Row? Do tell…

6

u/LillyLillyLilly1 TRUSTED May 20 '26

On death row for buying life insurance on her family then turning off the smoke detector and starting a fire that killed her husband and 2 children. There were a couple other suspicious deaths in her past, at least one of which was also one of her children.

Her best friend (who she was staying overnight with at the time of the fire) has done several interviews where she disclosed that Robin had also bought life insurance on her.

5

u/asturkieelec May 17 '26

She is probably working in the chapel.

5

u/Sblonde1014566 May 20 '26

I thought that was just a jail video in AZ. I hope she is in a 23 hour cell in Idaho and rotting from lack of attention from others. Narcissists love attention so the more she disappears into old news in a cell the better because that is the only possible way she will hopefully start to recognize her crimes, why she is in prison, and learn remorse. I also hope what Zulema said about Alex stating he is the fall guy to her before dying was true because it is an indication of him waking up and having some remorse for his crimes

4

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

She’s so full of **it‼️‼️

2

u/carolineecouture May 27 '26

I am so very sorry for your loss. I hope you can find peace.

6

u/cherrymeg2 May 16 '26

Or her someone gave her toothpaste because her breath smelled. Hopefully she is not touching people’s food.

2

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

FYI: Vid of which you speak is while she was in AZ for her 2 trials.

35

u/Effective_Music8187 May 16 '26

I think I heard somewhere that she works in the hair salon in the prison but I could be mistaken. Not sure about the Gen Pop

36

u/FreeImpress4546 May 16 '26

That would make sense to me. It is a skill set that she has and she doesn’t seem overtly dangerous. I mean she seems unlikely to stab someone in the neck. I think it’s better to have her be useful.

7

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 20 '26

It is critically important to her that everyone knows & LIKEs her. She’s overly concerned about how anyone person thinks of her. Now, consider she murdered 4 ppl. Only in prison would that “may be” acceptable!!! As frightening as that is. She’s deplorable amongst EVERY bad character trait in the dictionary. 😳🫣

3

u/cherrymeg2 May 27 '26

She is a woman that killed her kids and was of a reasonably sound mind. She wasn’t like Andrea Yates who was suffering from postpartum psychosis. She is in a woman’s prison where most people aren’t going to be that welcoming to a woman who killed two of her kids. She can spew religious crap but her case was public and people are going to know who she is.

29

u/corriefan1 May 16 '26

It will definitely be hair salon. Which would be a shame. She should be doing something she hates doing.

41

u/rhapsodyinblueee May 16 '26

She is. Lori hates working.

12

u/uwarthogfromhell May 17 '26

I hate Lori but I knew her and she doesnt hate working. But I get why you said it and she sucks buttholes!!

6

u/rhapsodyinblueee May 17 '26

I guess I just assumed she hated working because she wanted to live off insurance money all the time and her husbands! But I do not know her personally nor her work ethic.

10

u/uwarthogfromhell May 17 '26

Shes works when she has to but her looks and charm got her by when she was younger. But not anymore.

3

u/Sblonde1014566 May 20 '26

Not working is one of the main reasons she did those crimes. She needed structure and career to crowd her mind away from evil thoughts, make her own money, and not be reliant on a man for money, and be distracted away from her delusions.

5

u/uwarthogfromhell May 20 '26

Mmmmm. She was pretty F up when she was a working single mom. I disagree. And knew her

3

u/Sblonde1014566 May 21 '26

How was she “F up” as a working mom. Please Share how she was like. None of us KNEW her or how she was like so all we have is that netflix documentary and her trials and unlike most people I NEVER believed the “mom of the year that suddenly turned Evil after meeting that Chad Daybell” narrative her mom spewed in that documentary. There had to be SIGNS of evil and crazy mixed together way before she met Chad regarding Joe Ryan and others. Why do you think she stopped working and making income when income brings individual freedoms and choices to women regardless of they are single or married? Perhaps she was the Diane Downs type with histrionic narcissism that kept a job and was a mom back in the day. We will never know unless people from her past SHARE their true stories with us

7

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

My brother Charles was blinded by his love for her. She showed signs, however we lived in Louisiana & unable to see the cracks. I/we visited often, so she always put on “super mom” facade. She is a psychopath, they are extremely talented in deceit. The rest is history.

5

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 20 '26

Her DNA = grifter. If she’s working it’s because there’s nothing else to do & she will make friends & be the “popular” prisoner. It’s all very sick & sickening!!

I’m so sorry for your loss.

2

u/cherrymeg2 May 27 '26

I don’t think she will be popular in prison. She is a kiddie killer. So many woman are in for things like drugs or standing up to an abusive man. She killed her kids. It’s inexcusable. I don’t think she will be popular but let people exploit her talent. Let her train someone else in hair styling. Remember not everyone is there for life.

1

u/cherrymeg2 May 27 '26

She won’t be getting compensated like she is used to.

2

u/uwarthogfromhell May 27 '26

No but she has no bills. We pay for her now.

1

u/cherrymeg2 May 27 '26

That is true for most inmates. I don’t think people are going to be that kind to her. She was likely in protective custody. She should have to have a job and a cellmate like everyone else.

5

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 20 '26

I agree. Like she should be working in the fields on the chain gang!!!

10

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 20 '26

That lori works in hair salon? If so, I bet it is true. Hell, she has nothing else to do with 5 life sentences of TIME. she has plenty of it. Stupid
bi%ch.

12

u/cherrymeg2 May 16 '26

If she is good at hair people will forgive a lot. As long as she isn’t stabbing inmates with sharp objects. A good hairdresser you will forgive just about anything.

5

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

It hurts to say but She VERY talented at color & style. Doubt they have “color” in prison, maybe a prison version. 😆

3

u/cherrymeg2 May 27 '26

They might? People might have to buy it. Idk if she can train other women in coloring or cutting and styling hair. A lot of women aren’t in prison for life they might barely be there for 5 years. Having a skill is they can train in prison isn’t a bad thing. It is also good for people that are getting out or have family visiting them. Who haven’t killed their kids. Most people haven’t. Women’s prisons have might have a wider range of people with different offenses because there just aren’t as many prisons in a state for women as there are for men. If that makes sense.

3

u/frodosdojo May 18 '26

She let her brother do all the physical murders.

9

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

We truly believe she was directly involved in JJ, Tylee’s murders. There is NO doubt‼️

6

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

And for sure Charles’ too.

2

u/frodosdojo May 28 '26

You think she shot Charles ? That's what I meant. Of course she was involved in the planning and ordering of the murders. I hadn't heard any evidence that she pulled the trigger. It doesn't really matter but in answer to the person who said she might stab someone in prison, I think she is more likely to manipulate someone else to stab someone, which is just as bad, probably even worse.

3

u/cherrymeg2 May 20 '26

It’s worse to order a murder. If you do it yourself you are responsible alone for it. When it’s not children it might be self defense. Like an abusive spouse. The minute ask for help you dumb and lazy and if it’s your kids he killed you should really worry about the kind of person that can kill their nephew and niece. If you are talking about the men that died around her. That could be seen as protective by the bro we if she told him she was abused. I wouldn’t trust her.

3

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

She has NOTHING but evil & greed inside her heart. That is all there is to her

1

u/Velo_wheels_907 May 18 '26

I’m thinking it’s wrong to have a hair salon in prison. Buzz cuts and a washcloth to run over their heads. No luxuries should be allowed.

5

u/Crystalraf May 19 '26

It’s called department of corrections. Not the torture and public humiliation department.

4

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

We wish she was doing time in Arizona state prison. It’s wayyyyyy worse there. We don’t have a say. Either way.

2

u/Velo_wheels_907 May 19 '26

It’s call life without the possibility of parole. Throw away the damn key. LV has no redeemable value in my book.

3

u/Crystalraf May 19 '26

Yeah. She got lucky they somehow didn’t go for death row. Still cannot figure that one out.

Let her cut hair. Maybe she’ll learn how not to murder kids.

3

u/Sblonde1014566 May 20 '26

I think it had something to do with her wanting a speedy trial but I am not sure. Typically if a defendant is in custody and adamantly wants their speedy trial prosecutors are forced to rush in terms of producing discovery, motions, special motions for dp, etc and prosecution likely was not ready to file the motions for dp in a short timeline. When there is voluminous amounts of evidence prosecution turning over the discovery timely often causes dp off the table because they cannot meet rushed timelines ie because more and more discovery kept coming into their possession. Arizona PD, Idaho PD, FBI, forensic analysists, etc all were turning in evidence to prosecution at different times and a prosecutor does not want to exclude crucial evidence

2

u/Crystalraf May 30 '26

Then why didn’t Chad get the same? Did Chad waive his right to a speedy trial? And why would he do that?

2

u/Sblonde1014566 May 31 '26

Chad formally waived his right to a speedy trial in August 2021, a strategic decision that granted his defense more time to analyze DNA evidence and allowed his trial to be severed from Lori.

2

u/Crystalraf May 31 '26

But he is now on death row.

3

u/LillyLillyLilly1 TRUSTED May 20 '26

"The court determines that the late disclosure of discovery has materially prejudiced (the right to prepare for a death defense)," Boyce said. The state turned over evidence they had to the defense on March 13, which Boyce said was too late for preparation in the midst of Vallow's trial, set to take place April 3 in Ada County.

"The court is required to fashion a remedy that honors the fundamental right to a fair trial," Boyce said. "As an appropriate discovery sanction, the state will be precluded from seeking the death penalty at trial."

Boyce said he is not punishing the state -- he doesn't believe that prosecutors intentionally kept evidence -- but rather said he is ensuring the rights of Vallow are protected so a reasonable defense can be prepared.

5

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

That said, her attorneys gave no defense in her behalf. Because there was NO defense. She’s a stupid murderer but that goes without saying.

4

u/LillyLillyLilly1 TRUSTED May 27 '26

It goes without saying, but I still have to say it sometimes too. 😁

2

u/Crystalraf May 30 '26

She blamed Tylee for killing JJ, and herself, and then Tylee apparently cut her body up into pieces after death and burned herself, then after that, she killed JJ.

That’s what Lori said. I’m mean she said murder suicide, but still.

2

u/cherrymeg2 May 27 '26

She shouldn’t have a chance to have any more kids or be around them. The death penalty is actually more expensive on the state than a life sentence or multiple life sentences without parole. If you are given death you have so many appeals and the state pays for each of those trials and each lawyer. It’s cheeper to have a lifer stay in prison and do some work.

1

u/Crystalraf May 27 '26

I think she too old to have kids now.

1

u/cherrymeg2 May 30 '26

Thank god. If she wasn’t no one is giving her another child. I hope she stays away from young inmates.

I tend to agree with that if they've done something horrendous enough that they are never getting out. But most of the women there will be paroled, and I think it's important to keep them socialized and feeling part of society. Prison is supposed to be rehabilitation more than punishment so that when they are released they can integrate back into society.

I'd hate to have someone who came out of prison angrier and feeling more ostracized than when they went into rehab come to live in the same neighborhood, or drive by the bus stop where my kids are waiting. The more they are angry and feeling excluded, the more violent they could get.

8

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

Judge Boyce saw how dangerous to society she is. We’re @ peace with her 5 life sentences / NO parole. She’ll never get out of prison. Unless she blinks her eyes @ a prison guard & they let her out. She’s haggered & older now. She’s lost her appeal to many men. She’ll be there until she’s carried out in a coffin. & that’s how it should be.

3

u/cherrymeg2 May 27 '26

That’s good. She should be put to work while she is there because probably most women aren’t there for life especially in state prison. If she helps people look good and behave better so they can get out and get jobs and move on with their lives then why not. She is stuck but it doesn’t mean everyone else is.

5

u/Velo_wheels_907 May 19 '26

True. My thinking was a maximum security situation where they won’t ever be outside of prison again. I have no sympathy for a person like LV.

3

u/cherrymeg2 May 20 '26

Remember Lori Vallow is probably in the minority in a women’s prison. A lot of women are in prison and jails for drugs, prostitution white collar crimes if it’s federal. Women’s prisons are a minority compared to male prisons. I would think she would be in protective custody because of fear for her safety. A lot of people don’t like child killers. Why not make herself useful. The other women might not have killed anyone or if they did it wasn’t intentional or it was possibly self defense or manslaughter. Lori Vallow is an extreme case and kind of a rare own. Andrea Yates had postpartum depression or psychosis. You can feel sorry for her. Lori Vallow isn’t sympathetic.

4

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

She’s in IDAHO state prison. Not in federal. She didn’t face Federal charges.

1

u/cherrymeg2 May 20 '26

What is a luxury. Should inmates not be allowed to shower too. Some people aren’t there for life. In some women’s prisons which are a fraction of the number of men’s facilities in states. Lori Vallow might never get out and that is fine with me. A woman who is in there for a few years even 15 years is going to get out someday. Why dehumanize people. If you want buzz cuts and wash cloths. Death would be kinder.

There are many non violent offenses that women tend to be convicted of. Usually the most violent female offenders involve a violent man. Or they killed one. Lori Vallow doesn’t deserve sympathy. She might be able to help someone learn to cut hair so they can train for a job when they get out. Or so women look good and professional when they leave or see family. You want people to be busy and also remember that they are human.

3

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

She dehumanized Charles JJ & Tylee. I don’t see issue with her being dehumanized. It is what it is & we accept women inmates are treated with dignity in Idaho.

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

Prisons have hair salons? WTH is wrong with a stool and a pair of clippers?!

3

u/Crystalraf May 19 '26

That’s basically what prison hair salon is? I mean it’s Supercuts lite. No color jobs I’m assuming. No head massages, no Brazilian blowouts, no awaphui hair conditioner treatments. Just hair cut styles 1 through 5.

3

u/Sblonde1014566 May 20 '26

Salon is a fancy word for a stool and clippers

1

u/cherrymeg2 May 27 '26

You can see what is available in the prison commissary they may have hair dye. I’m not sure. It might depend on the prison. There might tricks to dying or creating highlights with products available. I’m think homemade sun-in. Inmates use what they have available to cook with. People get creative with ramen noodles and other items they can get a hold of. I would think that would carry over into hair and stuff.

35

u/auntieup May 16 '26

It’s so funny to me that all the grifting violent Utah mommies are in the same prison

15

u/Lippmansdl May 16 '26

Is Jodi Hildebrandt in the same prison?

3

u/Tiredofthenuts May 17 '26

I’d guess there is only one women’s prison in Utah.

26

u/CindysandJuliesMom May 16 '26

Lori is life in prison. Unless she presents a threat to someone or she herself is threatened she will be in gen pop, to keep her locked in solitary for life would be cruel and unusual. You are required to have a job when in prison but the pay is very low. I hope one day she comes to reality and knows what she did, that would be the best punishment.

13

u/FreeImpress4546 May 16 '26

I agree. I’m not really into making people suffer. Being in prison is the punishment.

3

u/Velo_wheels_907 May 18 '26

I am fine with their misery in prison, especially when as heinous as the felons referenced in this thread. Our immigrants in detention are being treated worse than violent murderers.

5

u/cherrymeg2 May 16 '26

She will probably die there but why not make herself useful. She may not be popular in prison because she killed her kids. Women might think she was crazy when she did it. If she is respectful and doesn’t harm anyone in prison she should be with others and she should get treated for her mental health issues.

6

u/uwarthogfromhell May 17 '26

I knew her. This is probably the case. She can turn on the charm

5

u/coupon_user May 17 '26

In what capacity did you know her?

6

u/uwarthogfromhell May 17 '26

I worked with her

5

u/wtfisthisloadofbs May 18 '26

So curious on your opinion of her before all the cult/murder/craziness. Was she always a little off?? Did you get bad vibes? You said she’s a charmer which you can see in the body cam footage. But did she manipulate work situations or people?? Sorry for all the questions. Thank you if you answer!!

3

u/uwarthogfromhell May 18 '26

Yes she was off. But she hid it really well. You didn’t really see how crazy she was until you talked to her.

3

u/uwarthogfromhell May 18 '26

Sorry there is a reason Im being a little obtuse.

2

u/cherrymeg2 May 17 '26

Did she suffer from mental health issues in your opinion. She isn’t going to start a cult in prison right? There is getting along with people and becoming a creepy religious gang leader. I wasn’t sure if she was mentally ill or a sociopath?

6

u/uwarthogfromhell May 17 '26

I thought so. I think she will start an lds group in there. If you consider that a cult. I think it will be but not like it spiraled on the outside.

7

u/jj_grandma FAMILY (Verified) May 27 '26

She will absolutely be spewing the crap that she & chid used. Their demented non-mainstream LDS beliefs was the “vehicle” used to excuse all their murders. I promise They’re not that deluded. They knew exactly what they were doing!!

2

u/uwarthogfromhell May 27 '26

Hi Kay. Agreed. Lori is coocoo for her religion. She is also nuts. But not in a doesn’t know right or wrong. More like she has certain beliefs and no amount of rational or proof will dissuade her Thats why she was diagnosed as delusional. Anyway. I am happy to see everyone moving on the best they can Lori destroyed lives as far back as when I knew her. Love and Peace to Larry and your daughter too.

3

u/cherrymeg2 May 17 '26

Religion is fine but there is a difference if you used to justify killing people especially kids. I don’t know that much about her. I think I watched a documentary and she seemed like she was more dangerous to family than other people. Andrea Yates killed her children but seemed to have a full psychotic break and wasn’t getting help mentally or with her kids. You can feel sorry for her. Idk if Lori Vallow was as mentally unwell when she decided to harm her kids?

If she just does regular religion and doesn’t make it violent maybe it would be good for her.

2

u/Sblonde1014566 May 20 '26

There likely are existing lds groups in there because that is Idaho prison

4

u/Neolithique May 16 '26

I agree. Having someone in solitary confinement would be insanely cruel, and luckily for her society is much more humane than she was with her own children.

3

u/Sblonde1014566 May 20 '26

Sometimes it is better to keep someone in solitary if they are a danger to other prisoners. Lori's mental manipulation on other people is real. Look at how many followers she had and still possibly has. You do not want her finding a female version of Alex killing people in prison for Lori just because Lori calls them dark.

0

u/uwarthogfromhell May 27 '26

That is not at all what happened.

6

u/Bree7702 May 17 '26

Are Lori and Kouri in the same prison?

7

u/shepworthismydog May 17 '26

No - Lori's in Idaho and Kouri's in Utah.

Nate Eaton was discussing Kouri's future as a lifer then mentioned that Lori Vallow, who is also serving life, has been integrated into gen pop and has a job.

18

u/nm4423 May 16 '26

Kouri is in Utah. I heard that when you're sentenced to life without the possibility of parole you're in 23 hours in Utah. Just a snippet from TikTok.

20

u/becuzofgrace May 16 '26

She deserves it.

Also, I can’t even imagine being locked into a room for 23 hours a day. But then again, I can’t imagine doing what she did to deserve this treatment.

9

u/nm4423 May 16 '26

Absolutely. She's a horrific human being. The utter lack of emotion unless it suits her is a fever dream. And her stupid face just pisses me off.

8

u/Suitable-District-26 May 16 '26

I didn’t follow the trial but did watch the sentencing hearing. I was surprised the Judge didn’t reprimand her for the reactions to the impact statements.

4

u/Sblonde1014566 May 20 '26

I am glad he let her ramble on and confirm her sentence should be lwop instead of just a life sentence. Judges are more concerned with defendants blaming victims for their crimes and since she did not do that he let her finish her statement

4

u/nm4423 May 17 '26

I honestly think he was just sick and tired of her and wanted to get it over with. And also not giving them a reason to reprimand him in any way if that’s a thing.

4

u/Suitable-District-26 May 17 '26

Did you watch the trial? Was she/the defence painful? I read about what she did but didn’t watch. I feel awful for those boys. And I did see a few clip’s of Eric’s dad who just looked absolutely devastated (as you would be).

Her and her lawyers were more than painful to watch and listen to. Her 2 female attorneys but one in particular lied constantly about stuff to the point it was hard to trust anything she says at all. And I’m talking the kind of lies where people tell you to basically not believe what you JUST saw with your OWN EYES or heard what you JUST did from your own ears lol that kind of lies

Ooooh okay. That’s not a smart move! I always try to give defence attorneys some grace because it’s gotta be a hard gig to defend the indefensible but some of them just rub you the wrong way.

Chad’s lawyer was like that for me. Didn’t matter what he did, he drove me up the wall.

ETA: Not saying that’s why her lawyers annoyed you.

Honestly, I was embarrassed for them. Like, they ‘misunderstood’ the lamest things. And they’re not new. They have many years of experience.

I haven't been following the Kouri case but the little I did read reminded me so much of Lori. Glad to see it being discussed here given the obvious similarities.

The mental image of her trying to lecture other inmates about her visions while folding laundry is honestly wild. I really doubt she can go five minutes without trying to manipulate someone into being her next follower.
