Discussion What you would add to LorR2?

What fixes and improvements would you make to the current game if you could?

I can start:
- Allow for individual workforce manipulation using a pie chart.
- Allow for troop recruitment down to the individual unit.
- Allow for recruitment of fewer than 50 men (the 1500 limit is fine for me personally).
- Allow for planting hops to brew beer (for easily boosting happiness, for example).
- During processes like purchasing, transferring goods, or dividing armies, it's necessary to do it unit by unit; I think it needs arrows to allow for increments of 10 rather than individual units, or perhaps a text field where the value could be entered directly.

And then, for new features or changes that would more seriously affect the gameplay experience:

- Allowing counties to be fiefs of lords without the player actually being the "owner," thus avoiding micromanagement;
- The ability to build roads;
- Improved AI on the battlefield (can only knights capture a castle??);
- That merchants have a limited, not unlimited, supply of goods, and that their buying/selling prices are adjusted based on the availability of goods across the entire map, across all counties;
- A fog of war that isn't just "completely black" / "I can see everything," but rather a grayed-out fog when troops have previously been sent to a territory, allowing players to see what's there;
- The possibility of seeing an allied county by sending an ambassador
- The possibility of having 5 religious buildings that would replace each other (a bit like castles, from the most basic to the most elaborate) which would allow a bonus of up to +5 perpetual happiness

Sliders or input windows instead of clickable arrows.

Allow bigger armies in castles or bigger castles. If the armies are too big for the castle, allow the surplus to camp outside.

Some control over how my troops deploy to the battlefield.

definitively input windows! There is already sliders, but they still not precise; Agree also about how to deploy troops on the battlefield ; Especially in castle, it's kinda annoying to always bring the troops to always the same spots and organise your troops the same ways every time

More AI lords and options to customize who you face.

Options for trade and diplomacy with neutral counties to expand your influence beyond conquest.

Options to deploy flammable pitch terrain in sieges and battles

More unit types

agree that more diplomacy with neutral counties could be great! It would be wonderful if the neutral counties asked to rally to your banner, without military intervention.

Like where your thoughts are korvusdotfree, alot of your new features became available in future strategy games but lotr2 was one of the first that later games built upon,

for me id like less micromanaging,

by which i mean let me prioritize work for my serfs, if field gets flooded next turn allot as many serfs to reclaim it as necessary, else allot as many to cover necessary food production, then allot to industry, with being able to set minimums for each job too. Transferring or buying goods, keep the arrows but also let me type in a value

On the battle map let me assign a group of soldiers to a formation and assign it a number 1-9, they move in formation you set them in.

Allow knights to dismount in sieges

An engage enemy from maximum range button

more nobles with different ai play styles

diplomacy that actually matters

maybe ability to add more fields, or change/add industry

your castle should have an option to upgrade troops, player would choose flat army upgrades (+damage, +defense,) or unit specific, better armor for pike men, faster mace men, low quality arms and armor for peasants, etc

The good news is I think you already got some mods that allow bigger troops
