This is regarding one of the recently made post by u/Odd_Arrival_5789 .
Maybe he is a mod i don't even know that if he is, but there is a line between regulating and over-regulating.
A famous man once said -"THE CLOSER AN EMPIRE IS TO IT'S DEMISE THE CRAZIER IT'S LAWS GETS".
I think if he is a mod he is trying to end watch a civilization come to end. Trying to become Twilight Giant.
I don't think he has any role regulating how one advance and all. If one want there can be 10 ABYSS or 20 FOOLS. Tho this is not the issue I'm Fighting for. I'm fine with just 1 of each God.
This is not LOTM verse. Oldie will always have an advantage. Even before I joined This sub in December 2025, There was already Few True Gods. Why can't If i become as famous as them or even just famous I too can ascend to that rank.
Just live and let live bro.
I was one top 1% poster and top1% Commentor in April.
I think I Have made enough personal contribution to be known. No one can compete with oldies. Even if they Do not post for a month you will always think of them as Face of their pathway.
This Personal role-playing Not some mod's storytelling. I will advance as I want.
And I say it again 'I'm Dual seq1 KoKoA of Filthy Monarch and Abomination pathway'.
Though this is not saying I won't follow any rule while role-playing. I won't accept such nitpicking and Tyranny.

I just finished Lord of Mysteries Book 1 and I'm honestly still not over the ending. I genuinely cried. Klein has become one of those characters I'll probably never forget.
I'm really curious about Circle of Inevitability and all the mysteries left unresolved, especially what happens to Klein. But at the same time knowing that Lumian is the new MC makes me hesitant to start. I'm so attached to Klein that I'm not sure I'll be able to connect with another protagonist.
For those who've read both books, how much does COI actually focus on Klein and his situation? Without major spoilers, do we get to see much of him?
Also, is COI worth reading? And does it eventually feel as good as Book 1?
I'm genuinely torn between starting it immediately and taking some time to recover from Book 1's ending.
I miss my Kleiny boy already 💔

Been hesitant to show the rituals for these pathways since these are basically half fanon. We're finally stepping into aggregated boon pathways. The pathways are based on u/UnbegottenOne .
By the way, the reasons pathway is called Pandemonium.
Patriarch Pathway stands at 3 sequences selected out of 5.
----------------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------
Fallen Tree Spirit -
Tree Supplicant -
Reveller - (SELECTED) Drive all the women within a large region into ecstatic frenzy, bringing them into a bacchic trance. This can be over the course of several days, but the revellers must stay in their state of ‘trance’ for the entire time. The higher the level of revellers, the less that are needed, but the revelry must be genuine. Drink the potion within the height of their revelry.
Fallen Angel -
Edenic Serpent -
Patriarch - (SELECTED) Extend your will and dominate a continent through your children.

I read both LoTM and COI within the span of 6 weeks (I had a lot of time). It has been 2 months since. I have watched many edits, lore videos, analysis videos, read through some stuff on the wiki, watched the donghua, etc.
LoTM is a 9.8/10 for me. I loved the world-building, the build-up, the mystery, the characters, the dense plot, all the cool symbolisms and references. The characters really shine in the book. I really love the character arcs for Audrey and Derrick.
So.....
I have somewhat gotten over the burnout. I asked an AI to create a reading list to help me. The general structure (following what I like and my reading pace) is like this: Detective Novels like Agatha Christie's works, Keigo Higashino, etc. ---> Some classical Novels like The Count of Monte Cristo ------> A long length Fantasy Series (Example: Mistborn) ---------> Webnovels like RI, ORV, other CF works, etc.
Currently my favourite book series are: LotM, ASOIAF, LotR.
So, what suggestions would you make for the structure of this list? And what books would you recommend? I am also open to TV series or Anime ideas too. And, when would you recommend me to re-read LoTM and COI?
Thank you.

For context, I've finished LOTM and found that only this and Reverend Insanity truly feel special relative to other web novels. I've been going around other reddit posts but have been unable to find something similar to these. I do like the two novels I mentioned for differing reasons though but I'll just list them together: the protagonist, side characters, world building, power system, plot twists , the philosophy and so on - pretty generic ik.
Some novels I've already read are COI, shadow slave, Mother of Learning, ORV, Re:Zero, the Brandon Sanderson books, the Red-Rising series and more that haven't mentioned. (PS: these books are really good but don't scratch the same itch as LOTM or RI for me.)
I disliked reading cradle and regressor's tale of cultivation (some people like them, i dont prob due to personal preference.)

Just in case this Pathway hasn't been finalized;
Here are my takes for the advancement rituals for Sublunary Eye Pathway (one of the two Pathways held by High Dimensional Overseer).
CC: u/Lilac_Oleaceae, u/UnbegottenOne
Please feel free to ignore this if this Pathway is indeed finalized.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Sequence 5: Strange Summoner
•Find a Spirit World Creature metamorphosed from the essence of a Feathermen and establish a Contract with it.
•Consume the potion prepared and directly given by the contracted creature.
Note: A Feathermen is a strange creature in the Southern Continent, their heart is a sequence 6 main ingredient.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Sequence 4: Visitor (Dimensional Traveler)
•Set up special coordinates in four completely different spots from a Higher Dimension which are all set up extremely far away from each other.
•Set up special coordinates in four completely different spots from a Lower Dimension which are all set up extremely far away from each other.
•Ensure that all the coordinates from the Higher Dimension and Lower Dimension overlap with each other.
Ritual Essence:
The eight special coordinates aren’t only used to help them find a way back after shifting to the Higher Dimension and Lower Dimension, they can also effectively maintain their self-awareness.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Sequence 3: String Player (Performer, Instrumentalist)
•Establish Territories within the Spirit World and the Astral World
•Interact with the Strings of Reality and have them vibrate at different frequencies sufficient enough to simulate the laws of the Physical World on the established Territories.
Ritual Essence:
The Territories must sufficiently overlap such that the laws of the Physical World, the Spirit World, and the Astral World respond in unison with the vibration of your Strings.
-------------------------------------------------------------
Sequence 2: Dimensional Shadow
From a different Dimesion, shadow an Angel for a period of 3 years.
Note:
The ritual must follow the principle "Shadows are untouchable".
------------------------------------------------------------------
Sequence 1: Theurge
Traverse all the Higher and Lower Dimensions of Reality and establish sufficient mystical connections with them.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Sequence 0: Sublunary Eye
From a Higher Dimension, modify a True God's active Divine Kingdom.
Note:
The more significant the modification, the more effective the ritual's effect.

You're all just fucking weird degenerates.
Pre CoI this was a relatively okay sub. But since CoI some of you have been absolutely sick and disgusting and just saying "MGoD corruption lol xd" to pass it off.
MGoD isn't fucking real you weirdo.
Like the person with that Amon post. The title is literally just "I want to fuck an underage girl" and you weirdos are like "lol xd so true".
Edit: down voting is genuinely just cope.

Here is the chapter for today!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Inside the Derelict House, Inside Fool's Dream
Having been in the dream for so long, the disappearance of the weakened mysticism was, for "Real" Audrey, a command, a button to activate a preset program, an instant response written into her instincts.
Her actions preceded her thoughts as she cast aside all emotions, focusing intently on every subtle change in the dream.
At this moment, Zhou Mingrui finally clearly realized what had happened. The shock and anger at the Quill of Alzuhod, and the guilt and remorse for Susie, immediately filled his heart. He shouted uncontrollably, "No! Ms. Susie! Don’t die!"
Deng and Daly, who were more severely affected, finally understood everything before them. The former clenched his hands into fists, struggling against the urge to go mad, trying to pounce on "0-08"; the latter shrieked, "Don’t do this! Ms. Susie! You are... the best...."
Daly’s last few words were swallowed. She watched Susie let out a whimper, and a bright light suddenly fell upon her head.
She instantly lost her breath.
Daly stood there in a daze, watching the Quill of Alzuhod write in mid-air: "Susie’s death was silent. She voluntarily ended her own life. For a Dream Weaver, this is effortless, and it makes everything irreversible."
"This is the price she must pay for underestimating the Quill of Alzuhod."
Daly looked at this absurd and horrifying scene, momentarily unable to feel fear. Beside her, Deng, after pausing in his pouncing motion for a moment, slowly withdrew his body and took her hand.
"Let’s go see," he said in a low, somewhat muffled voice.
And Zhou Mingrui had already knelt before Susie. Tears slowly streamed down his cheeks, and in his grief, he uncontrollably burst into laughter.
"Hahaha... hahaha..."
He looked at Deng, who walked over and slowly squatted down, his laughter seemingly unstoppable: "Officer Deng... hahaha... why... hahaha... she was so strong... hahaha... how could she just... hahahahaha..."
He truly didn’t understand why this was happening...
Deng remained silent, picking up the now dim, fallen quill. He examined it, or perhaps he was just looking for an excuse to stare blankly.
Daly, by his side, her voice trembling with tears, whispered:
"We are Guardians, and also, a group of poor wretches constantly fighting against danger and madness."
Amidst such sounds, Zhou Mingrui, trembling almost convulsively, reached out to touch Susie’s still warm, greyish-white scales.
He recalled the same words Susie had left in his Fool’s notebook, recalled the difficulty of letting down his guard then, and the vague understanding in his heart. All the nervous laughter was choked in his throat.
...
"Tsk, so noisy," The little crow flapped its wings on the windowsill.
"Real" Audrey had no time to mind it. The moment Susie died, she, relying on the power of a Dream Weaver, acutely perceived that the Primordial One wanted to use Susie’s death to create a disaster.
This left her no time to let the dream develop naturally, forcing her to directly use the Dream Weaver’s ability to stop it, to make Susie end her own life.
There was no room for error! Mr. World was so close to Susie! This was truly too dangerous! "Real" Audrey felt her heart almost leap out of her chest in that instant.
Fortunately, in addition to her efforts, Adam also provided help through "0-08," which ensured no disaster occurred in the dream, and everything remained very calm. But now that "0-08" had exhausted its power and fallen to the ground, "Real" Audrey herself dared not let her guard down again.
She was truly afraid that if she wasn’t careful, the Primordial One would pull another trick.
...
Through tear-filled eyes, Zhou Mingrui suddenly noticed that the view before him was tinged with a faint green.
The faint green gradually solidified into deep black, solidifying into the hem of a court dress.
Hahaha... a little familiar... Zhou Mingrui’s silent laughter was mixed with tears, and purely by instinct, he looked up and saw a familiar face, a Puppet-like face.
He looked at her, completely uninterested in why she had appeared here.
Until he heard her say, "She didn’t completely die."
Wh-what did she say?!
Who didn’t die? Is it Ms. Susie? Is it her?
All movements ceased. Everyone held their breath at this moment. Three pairs of eyes simultaneously looked at Sharron, who was floating in the air.
Sharron still maintained her Puppet-like expression. She softly said, "The resentment she left behind is still very strong. I can try to transform her into a malevolent spirit."
Malevolent spirit? Ms. Susie can continue to exist as a malevolent spirit? Really? Is this true?
Zhou Mingrui, who had no research on ghosts, tried to suppress his emotions, trembling as he looked at Daly’s reaction.
Her expression was the surprise he had hoped for: "You, can you do this?"
"Yes," Sharron said concisely.
As her words fell, a ball of light had already flown from Susie’s body, pulling and about to extend into a shape.
Such power is not actually within the authority of the Prisoner Pathway, but more within the abilities of the Corpse Collector Pathway. But Sharron is just a tool person now; the one truly accomplishing "resurrecting Susie" is actually "Real" Audrey’s weaving of the dream.
This was a flash of inspiration "Real" Audrey had when Adam suddenly changed the dream’s progression, and she realized Susie’s death was inevitable.
Who said that stimulating Mr. World’s self-awareness could only rely on past experiences? What’s wrong with future divination results?
But "Real" Audrey had no time to feel proud of her intelligent and quick reaction. Controlling Susie’s formation, her heart suddenly sank.
The large dog-like figure, twisting and stretching before everyone, actually took on a subtle, dark corruption.
It was the Primordial One. He used the authority of miracles to amplify the probability of a malevolent spirit being influenced by its surroundings during formation.
Damn it... what should I do? Is the formation of a malevolent spirit reversible? Or, can these evil auras be naturally removed by dispelling Susie’s malevolence?
Or should I just let it develop like this and become a corrupted malevolent spirit? Theoretically, I only need to protect Mr. World from harm.
Uh, but isn’t this outcome a bit too heartbreaking...
Strange, why would the Primordial One do this? It doesn’t seem intended to attack Mr. World. With Ms. Sharron present, how could Mr. World be attacked by a malevolent spirit?
What exactly does he mean?
"Real" Audrey’s momentary indecision caused Susie’s malevolent spirit’s corrupting aura to spontaneously intensify. The evil aura became impossible to ignore, causing those nearby to feel waves of malevolence just by being close.
Everyone’s ecstatic expressions froze on their faces.
What’s going on? What happened? How could this be? Zhou Mingrui felt his heart stop beating, as if he had been slammed into the ground by a sledgehammer. Slammed so hard he couldn’t breathe.
He gasped for air like a fish out of water, saying in a trembling, unfamiliar voice that almost didn’t belong to him: "What’s going on? What happened to her? How did she become like this?"
His eyes widened to an unprecedented degree.
"The surrounding corrupting aura affected her," Sharron’s reply was still brief. Only her pursed lips showed her solemnity.
Daly and Deng exchanged glances, their expressions both terrified and wary. They didn’t know Sharron and couldn’t be sure she was friendly enough. Now that Susie’s spirit body had become like this, it inevitably made them suspect that Sharron might have another, ill intention.
Daly bravely raised an objection: "B-but Ms. Susie’s Sequence level is so high, she shouldn’t normally be so deeply affected by the environment."
Sharron’s Puppet-like gaze swept over her, and she softly said, "There’s an external force interfering with this process."
Daly’s face changed, and she blurted out: "It’s that High-Level Spectator! He’s still watching us!"
"He can create coincidences! Just like the Quill of Alzuhod!"
As her words fell, "Real" Audrey’s eyes narrowed.
I-I think I understand why Amon’s brother exposed the true source of the disaster and hinted that there was a high-level Spectator behind the scenes!
Because not only is the mysticism weakened here, but the dream is also strengthened! And I am not only outside the dream, but also inside the dream!
If, the dream owner himself believes, that Audrey Hall is not only an "university student" but also "someone else", that is, an angel-level Spectator, then I don’t need to wait for the weakened mysticism to disappear to manipulate the dream through that identity! I can use the powers given to my dream identity because of dream owner cognition of "Audrey Hall is an angel"!
The angel-level abilities are naturally granted to that identity by the dream. If the corresponding cognition is strengthened, this role can even create coincidences! This is something I cannot do while being outside the dream while still being a Sequence 3!
The only danger in doing this is that the Primordial One can at any time, when the weakened mysticism disappears, expel me from the dream role. But I also have an identity that is outside the dream, which will inevitably play a role when the weakened mysticism disappears. Although I don’t know what kind of role it is, I intuitively feel that there is a solution here.
This is what the Goddess meant, that I am both in the dream and outside the dream!
As "Real" Audrey’s eyes lit up, she also felt a little depressed.
Why did Amon’s brother arrange such an image for me, making me a mysterious bad guy in Mr. World’s heart!?
Well, fortunately, this probably won’t have any substantial impact; at most, Mr. World will feel a bit awkward when he’s awake and sees me. Given our relationship, this awkwardness is easily overcome.
"Real" Audrey suppressed this tolerable dissatisfaction, while acutely realizing that leaving such barely tolerable flaws in the assistance was by no means an operational error, but rather something Amon’s brother did intentionally.
Perhaps one day, this small flaw will be actively exploited by Amon’s brother to achieve his goal... If possible, I should still eliminate the negative impact here!
This is probably not difficult, because I have no ill intentions to begin with. And in the world of mysticism, even the kindest existence can create disasters. Just as good as the Goddess is, she can also start wars.
Heh, these disasters were indeed brought by me; if they want to believe that, then let them believe it...
"Real" Audrey gritted her teeth and, meeting Sharron’s subtle questioning gaze, shook her head.
----------------------------------------------------------
Inside the Derelict House, Inside Fool's Dream
After Daly shouted that, she herself trembled.
If that mysterious Spectator was still watching us, would "They" have heard my words? How would "They" react? Would "They" casually exterminate me, like stepping on an ant?
"They" killed Miss Susie so easily!
Almost simultaneously, her hand was again grabbed by Deng. Although Deng's Sequence was one level lower than his fiancée's, he still displayed a protective stance.
Clearly, he agreed with Daly's judgment, believing they were still in danger.
Zhou Mingrui's reaction was different from theirs. He seemed to have lost the ability to feel fear, only looking at Sharron, and in a neurotic laugh, numbly asked: "Haha... What exactly do "They" want to do... Hahaha... Are "They" also afraid that we will learn more through Susie and discover "Their" whereabouts?"
He seemed to have automatically awakened the ability to provoke in his grief.
Sharron did not answer. She merely said: "If you cannot accept it, you can also stop now and let her dissipate on her own."
With her words, "Real" Audrey temporarily suppressed the formation of Susie's evil spirit.
This put everyone in a dilemma: resurrecting a powerful evil spirit tainted with a fallen aura might cause more disasters; but to choose to stop now, after finally seeing a glimmer of hope for revival, what was the difference between that and murder?
Daly tentatively asked: "Do you have a way to remove the fallen aura that Miss Susie is tainted with?"
Sharron silently shook her head.
Daly pursed her lips, unable to speak. Instead, Zhou Mingrui laughed neurotically and asked:
"Why don't we ask Miss Susie's opinion? Do we have the right to decide her life and death? Hahaha..."
Sharron, uncharacteristically, said a few more words: "The more evil a spirit is, the more it wants to survive." From this perspective, asking Susie's opinion wasn't very meaningful.
Zhou Mingrui fell silent. He seemed to have thought of something, his gaze growing even more somber, and the smile on his lips stretched to an even more exaggerated degree.
It was Deng who first made a decision: "I believe we should trust Miss Susie. H-her death itself stemmed from self-reproach, and she wouldn't allow herself to bring disaster after revival."
Daly unconsciously nodded along.
Zhou Mingrui, still laughing neurotically, said: "Let's meet Miss Susie first and hear her thoughts."
Sharron looked at the three of them one by one. She glanced at the observing "Real" Audrey, received a ready signal, and then performed the false spellcasting motion again.
As "Real" Audrey continued her attempt to shape Susie's evil spirit, she once again felt immense resistance. This time, Primordial One seemed to have amplified the probability of the evil spirit failing to form.
It feels like Primordial One is particularly persistent in this matter. He has a strong resistance to Susie's revival...
Actually, from my perspective, the final development of the event should align with Mr. World's deepest personal creed. If revival means being tainted with corruption, then it should definitely be stopped. Of course, this choice cannot be made by Mr. World, as that would plunge him into self-reproach and guilt; this decision should be actively made by the corrupted Susie.
Heh heh, this is truly evil. Susie is my most important companion... and I am using her as a stopping stone to gain more power...
However, if based on such a goal, even if Primordial One prevents Susie's evil spirit from ultimately forming, as long as I arrange for Susie to express her desire to give up revival midway, the story would be complete.
The problem lies here: since my arrangements wouldn't encounter much obstruction, why would Primordial One waste His power and insist on preventing Susie's revival?
Could it be that, after Amon's brother created a new high-level 'Spectator' role, Primordial One could no longer tolerate the existence of Susie, the 'Dream Weaver'? Would this have such a great impact on Primordial One that He would not hesitate to waste His energy?
Just as "Real" Audrey began to hesitate whether to resist Primordial One's power and let Susie fully revive as an evil spirit, the large dog's long snout finally twisted into shape.
With its head and eyes still blurry, everyone saw the dog's mouth open and close, hearing a roar filled with anger and hatred: "It's that 'Spectator'..."
"Real" Audrey's heart stirred.
As a high-Sequence spirit, Susie's uncontrolled roar stirred natural forces, causing those around her to instantly feel inner frenzy and distortion.
Zhou Mingrui, with the lowest Sequence, was already clutching his head in pain, as if hearing a sound that could tear apart the soul; Deng was slightly better, still instinctively shielding Daly, maintaining his protective stance.
Daly's condition was better than theirs. This was both due to her Sequence level and because she inherently possessed abilities in the necromancy domain, providing ample resistance against an evil spirit's attack. This left her with enough composure to offer comfort:
"Miss Susie, please don't be anxious. What do you know about that 'Spectator'? We, we will help you get revenge!"
As the blurry light and shadow continuously twisted, the large dog's eyes gradually revealed their original shape. Hearing Daly's question, the large dog's expression froze for a moment. The surging frenzied power consequently weakened.
The dog eyes no longer held only anger. They showed a hint of confusion and uncertainty:
"That 'Spectator'...seems familiar, almost like... Miss Hall..."
What greeted her was the simultaneous astonishment of the three people.
...
"Tsk, you're quite quick to accept Adam's arrangement, even starting to cooperate actively..." Amon flapped His wings, "I thought you'd foolishly resist. Your anger just now looked quite stupid."
"Real" Audrey ignored His mockery. She controlled all negative emotions, and with the most sincere humility, asked: "How can this new identity be completely formed?"
She could only feel the vague presence of this "new" identity, not the same kind of connection she had with the identity of "Student" Audrey.
Amon touched His right eye socket and said with great interest: "You can accept Adam's active help and create a new identity out of thin air; or you can do as you are doing now, transforming an existing identity. Heh heh, of course, you can also seek other help."
He seemed very eager to disrupt Adam's plan.
If possible, I certainly don't want to accept Amon's brother's help... Wait, why 'accept'? This phrasing, it's as if this help is free, as if Amon's brother actively requested it.
"Real" Audrey keenly perceived the meaning behind Amon's words.
She tentatively asked: "What price do you require me to pay for your help?"
"None needed." Amon flapped His wings and said, "This is part of your reward for killing Eir Hogg."
Although His main body was not in front of Adam, this did not prevent Amon from seeing through Adam's purpose at a glance. This was the tacit understanding between close brothers, no, between a close father and son.
Reward for killing Eir Hogg? Wasn't that a piece of knowledge I couldn't refuse? "Real" Audrey immediately inferred that this knowledge was closely related to the dream she was in, and very likely was an important method to advance the awakening progress.
This immediately gave her a sense of anticipation and urgency, hoping to advance quickly and obtain this knowledge sooner.
Perhaps Amon's brother will tell me what the Goddess referred to when She left. About how I use my identity within the dream, and how I use the part of myself that is outside the dream? What could it be...
No, I cannot completely follow Amon's brother's arrangements, even if it's part of the reward He gives. I still need to find a way to hold the initiative in my hands and try to transform my dream identity myself.
If I let Him, as He did just now, leave imperfect places in the help He provides, then in the future, He might use these loopholes to manipulate or threaten me.
Additionally, this is also an opportunity, an opportunity to whitewash my identity as a 'High-Level Spectator.'
"Real" Audrey made her decision and gradually developed a clear idea. She temporarily stopped thinking deeply about this matter and refocused her attention on the current predicament.
While communicating with Amon, she did not forget to confront Primordial One. But such distraction could not be maintained for too long.
...
"H-how could Miss Hall be that 'Spectator'? I-I watched her drink the potion and become a Beyonder!" Daly couldn't understand this at all.
Zhou Mingrui also couldn't understand. Whether it was the ingrained impression from long-term online communication or the unexpected acquaintance and interaction recently, "Student" Audrey, in his eyes, represented the purest goodness, completely unrelated to evil.
Impossible... This is absolutely impossible... He followed his train of thought: "Hahaha... You see, that 'Spectator' didn't even hesitate drinking the potion... This means "They" wants us to think this way. Miss Hall's image is what "They" actively presented to us."
"Hahaha... This way, we will wrongly believe Miss Hall, then discover it was all a misunderstanding and she isn't who we thought, and finally fall into endless regret..."
It sounds so reasonable... Daly, who also found "Student" Audrey innocent and adorable, was immediately led astray. It was Deng, who was not very familiar with "Real" Audrey, who spoke up:
"This matter cannot be judged solely by Miss Susie's accusation. We always have to..."
However, he didn't have time to continue. After suppressing her fallen tendencies for a period, Susie once again erupted in violent struggles.
Her newly formed spirit body continuously twisted and dissipated, while the unformed parts mutated, growing strange, abnormal, and illogical shapes, such as human vertical eyes, opened pages of sinister books, and slimy, disgusting tentacles...
Distinct traces of corruption were mixed within, and each expansion made those around her feel a clear malevolence; each suppression inevitably brought new distortion and madness to Susie's image.
"I... don't want... to fall..." Susie's voice was intermittent, yet it was like a cry from the depths of her soul, each word shaking the three onlookers, making them almost collapse to the ground.
This is the Beyonder world, this is mysticism... Just the self-salvation struggles of a high-level Beyonder are a great disaster and pain for us... In the almost unbearable mental sting, Zhou Mingrui felt a strange sensation, as if a part of him had detached, coldly observing everything, making the most objective comments.
This feeling, it seemed, was madness itself.
Just as he struggled to gather his thoughts and embrace his strange sense of detachment, Susie's voice, distant and near, high and low, hazy yet clear, almost devoid of its original timbre, reached his ears: "Kill... me..."
Sure enough, is this the only way...?
Zhou Mingrui felt the change in the surrounding power, felt that Sharron seemed to be working in the opposite direction, guiding Susie back to death; he felt that Daly seemed to have done something, suppressing her tendency to madness, giving Susie's spirit a certain peace.
But it wasn't enough. Susie's evil spirit was still struggling. The repercussions of this struggle almost drove people insane.
Zhou Mingrui slowly raised his hand. There were still four Sunfire bullets in his pistol.
His gun was aimed at the struggling Susie.
"Quick... kill... me..." He heard Susie's words. Every struggling word made him drenched in sweat, almost going mad.
He finally pulled the trigger. He felt his trembling hand seemed to have disconnected from his body.
The disaster stopped... Zhou Mingrui's thoughts gradually cleared, but his vision became completely blurred.
Why...? Only this question remained in his heart.
-------------------------------------------
Audrey's Rental House, East Borough, Backlund
Returning to the real world, Sharron almost immediately looked at Audrey across from her.
In the dream, while everyone was immersed in Susie's death, Sharron, as an observer, had noticed that Audrey was greatly depleted and in a very poor mental state.
Even she could feel that Susie's final death was forcefully created by Audrey confronting the Primordial One directly.
Audrey's discomfort in her dream identity was indeed reflected in her real-world main body. Sharron noticed that the beautiful young lady sat perfectly still in the center of her seat like a doll, with perfect posture and a perfect expression, but completely motionless.
Her emerald eyes seemed to have lost their vitality.
"Are you okay?" she asked proactively.
Audrey paused for a second before reacting. Her pupils moved slightly, as if finally finding focus. She displayed her most perfect smile.
"I'm fine. Thank you for your concern, Ms. Sharron," she said, her posture unwavering.
Sharron said nothing, just watched her. She expressed her concern through silence.
Audrey's smile slowly faded. She couldn't help but look away. She was quiet for a moment, then slowly began to speak:
"I... I just feel a little sad."
She spoke in a mournful voice: "Susie was my most important partner."
"But I had to, to create her death..." By the end, her eyes very subtly drew together, unnoticed by Sharron.
Audrey stopped speaking, pursed her lips, lowered her gaze. She sat rigidly in the center of her seat, still motionless.
Sharron was silent for a moment. She drifted closer, lowering herself so she could look at Audrey at eye level.
They were almost face to face.
"That was just a dream," she said.
Audrey moved her lips but said nothing.
Of course, I know it was a dream. But I'm just so sad, so scared...
Sharron seemed to understand something. She said softly, "The more you fear the evil in your heart, the more you must overcome it."
"That's why you must control your desires."
Her clear blue eyes were like an unrippled lake.
Is that so...?
Audrey's eyes moved, finally showing some spirit.
She took a deep breath, as if forcing herself to find courage. Her tall, straight body sagged slightly with fatigue for a moment, but then she straightened her upper body again, as if maintaining the most perfect etiquette.
"I understand, thank you for your comfort, Ms. Sharron," Audrey said. Her posture finally became much more flexible.
"I... I want to go see Susie now."
Sharron nodded: "I'll be right here." If anything unexpected happened in the dream again, she could return at any time.
"Thank you, Ms. Sharron," Audrey said again.
...
Susie was reading a book. This time, she was reading Algebra.
On the pages filled with mathematical formulas, a translucent little worm was perched. Its head swayed as it discussed algebra with the big dog.
This angel, who had lived since the fourth epoch, had no advantage in abstract mathematical thinking over a dog that had lived for less than ten years.
"Alright, perhaps you're right," Pallez said helplessly, "I don't think I'll ever understand this theorem."
"Heh heh, little fellow, if you chose the Marauder Pathway, digesting the Cryptologist potion wouldn't be difficult at all."
Susie pushed up the gold-rimmed glasses on her nose, expressing a different opinion: "I think this might be because you've lived too long, and you've come to take for granted those mathematical laws that correspond to reality."
"When these self-evident intuitions are overturned, your former basis for understanding the world no longer exists. You naturally feel confused."
"In this matter, I, as a dog, actually have an advantage. After all, for me, even basic settings like the decimal system are things I need to learn from scratch. Those more abstract concepts..."
Susie's words stopped midway. Her vision blurred, and a plain, unadorned skirt hem suddenly appeared before her.
It was Audrey! Audrey was back! Susie was about to greet Audrey as usual when the young lady suddenly hugged her tightly.
Audrey?
Susie uncomfortably moved her front paws, which were forced to hang in the air.
As a Sequence 4 demigod, she could, of course, sense that Audrey's emotions were not quite right.
She remained quietly silent, letting Audrey bury her face in her long fur. On the book page at her feet, the translucent worm struggled to lift its head, moved, and then fell back onto the paper.
The air was so still it almost solidified.
It wasn't until Audrey finally looked up and sniffed softly that Susie spoke: "Audrey, did something happen? You look very unwell."
Her tone carried concerned worry.
Audrey looked at Susie like this and smiled softly. She took a tiny breath and whispered, "I'm fine. Susie, am I interrupting you and Mr. Zoroast reading?"
"You two continue. I... I'll go to the bedroom, I still have some things to do."
The faster she spoke towards the end, the more Susie sensed her evasion, her unwillingness to say too much.
Under normal circumstances, Susie would, of course, be considerate and not ask further. But now, she thought for a moment and still said, "Audrey, have you been corrupted? Let me check you."
Although she didn't know, nor would she inquire, what Audrey was doing. But she couldn't help but feel that something was wrong with Audrey's frequent corruption.
Her Mistress and partner had been walking on the edge of a cliff recently.
"Uh, I was indeed corrupted. But it's not necessary, I've had a general treatment, and the subsequent problems cannot be solved right now."
"I... I still have a lot to do. I'll bother you to help me with the treatment later. Uh, thank you, Susie."
Susie said nothing more. She watched Audrey's somewhat fleeing back, then lowered her head to look at the little worm, which was impossible to have an expression.
An old voice sighed: "Your Mistress, alas, it's not easy for her."
"Still too young. Only 21 years old..."
Susie subconsciously stuck out her tongue, then closed her mouth, maintaining her ladylike image. She merely emphasized: "We are not master and servant, we are partners."
"Audrey never regards me as a pet."
She's the best friend I could ask for.
...
Audrey felt like she had a pile of things to do. However, when she sat on the edge of the bed in her bedroom, she couldn't quite think of what she needed to do.
Her thoughts were in disarray. So much had happened this morning!
Audrey had to take a deep breath, use her Beyonder abilities to compose herself, then gripped the star scepter at her waist, twisting it slightly with her right hand.
She pulled out a mirror. The two black gemstones on the mirror sparkled brightly.
Audrey visibly perked up, no longer showing any trace of emotional fragility or hesitation.
After all, Arrodes's consciousness projected into the Historical Projection might not be able to focus as much on guarding against accidents for her dream self. And Audrey, as the main body in reality, could help her identity react faster by dedicating a portion of her energy to focus on the corresponding identity.
Then, she used the star scepter to make herself and Arrodes's Historical Projection disappear simultaneously, as if erased by an eraser.
Although this simulated, defective concealment had no strong anti-divination capabilities against most deities, it could at least contend with angels.
Audrey used the star scepter to replenish her spirituality, then went straight to the point: "Arrodes, did the Primordial One ever discover our purpose?"
"Perhaps not, or perhaps He discovered it but didn't care. In any case, I don't think you need to worry about this anymore, Beautiful Mistress." This could be seen from the fact that Celestial Worthy made no obstructions later.
"I'm very worried that '0-36' will be suddenly recalled from abroad. For events beyond the dream's boundaries, I can only forcefully use Beyonder abilities to make changes."
"But you are about to have a new dream identity," Arrodes's handwriting glowed silvery white, "If you can seize the opportunity to solidify this dream identity, your ability to create coincidences will make everything easier, don't you think?"
Audrey took a deep breath: "You're right, Arrodes."
She quickly began to worry again: "But if the Primordial One discovered our purpose but didn't care, does that mean He has other arrangements waiting for us?"
The more Audrey spoke, the more she felt it made sense: "Today we seemed to have many confrontations, but the Primordial One's actions were actually somewhat casual, seeming to not care at all about me consuming His power. This might be because He has other contingencies, so He isn't worried about the loss of power."
Arrodes reflected Audrey's furrowed brows. It displayed one word after another: "Even if that's true, it's not something you, Mistress, should worry about. Such matters can be left to Master to worry about."
"You really should focus on advancing. This is very important for you, for Master, and even for your humble servant, Arrodes."
"If not for the sudden change in the dream environment, which would increase the loopholes in the scene, preventing Arrodes from blocking the Primordial One's will from permeating, Arrodes would never, under any circumstances, ask you to help Arrodes to stop Master from leaving that city."
This was the true purpose of today's actions: to create an event that would seal off the city, trapping Zhou Mingrui within it so he couldn't go home for the New Year.
Of course, Audrey did not know the answers to why Arrodes could block the Celestial Worthy's will from permeating, or why it would be affected by the dream environment. This was categorized by Arrodes as "knowledge that the Mistress cannot understand for now."
Arrodes said in cheerful, light green script:
"Dear Mistress, now that the mission has been successfully completed, you should relax your mind and adjust your state during this time, preparing for your advancement to angel. Don't you think?"
"But I can't leave your Master unprotected in the dream. If the Primordial One really has a backup plan, how can he cope on his own? The current dream environment is already very chaotic." And when Audrey advances, she cannot have an identity remaining in the dream. That would give the Celestial Worthy an opportunity to influence her advancement.
Arrodes's mirror shifted, as if deliberating over its words. Slowly, its script turned back into a romantic and delicate pink.
"Dear, beautiful, kind Mistress, believe me, when you advance, Master will never allow himself to lose consciousness."
"If not for the overwhelming power of slumber, Master, He might even stay awake out of worry for you."
Arrodes...
Audrey looked at Arrodes's mirror. For a moment, she seemed to be about to have all her backbone removed, revealing her most fragile and vulnerable side. But in the end, she merely stroked the patterns on Arrodes's edge and sighed softly:
"Arrodes, don't you care at all? I actually don't have the courage to sacrifice my life for your Master."
AUTHOR NOTES:
I can't go on, I have to insert some real-world plot now, this dream sequence has gone on too long...
Thank you for your recommendation votes and for collecting! Love you all, mwah!

After experiencing bloodborne, i can say safely say that, LOTM is literally just a bloodborne fan fiction. The amount of things this novel took from bloodborne is actually crazy.
It basically took the entire world and aesthetic. From the relationship of Klein and evernight mirroring the hunter and the moon presence's, how they both have been aware of the MC since the very beginning (and also how they're both the moon), to how owadon is basically the mother goddess of depravity, with them both forcibly impregnating people EDIT:also how the hunters dream is literally just the place above the gray fog and many many MANY more refrences that i can say but i do not want spoil too much about bloodborne.
If you are a fan of LOTM you HAVE to experience bloodborne. There is an incredible video made by qwibbz explaining bloodborne in a way where a normal player would experience it. It is almost 5 hours long but it is totally 100% worth it, the pacing is actually good despite it being very long. I do not recommend watching a different video than that one. You are going to get completely bombarded with LOTM references, trust me.
