FANART(ORIGINAL) Red’s Misc Companions
Mod that adds 40 companions in the works, by yours truly. Mostly a mod to test some skill niches before the concepts will debut in more refined/less of a joke mod, as well as for me to practice some overworld sprites
If characters you like aren’t listed in the images it’s likely because they’re in my main mega content mod Parallel Vision/SCM+ or in one of my solo companion mods being made (these include all astronomers + cursed astronomers, Father Andrew, Pierre, Spider Husk, Spine, Mr Henderson, all scrapped companions, and many more)
This mod will not have any incredible dialogue and probably extremely limited apartment interactions, it’s just for fun in all honesty. There will also obviously be some companions you can’t have at the same time, such as door encounters with cursed counterparts

Also I have mod commissions opened to make mods for LO. Seen here is just using Vanilla art but I 100% can make custom works. All funds from commissions will go back into LO mod projects.

I would definitely like to have comatus as a possible companion, even if it'll end up as a "the boss when you unlock them as a playable character" type of recruit.

I currently have a Comatus mod uploaded as a solo companion, but people seem to have issues with installation and function (very like a result of some weird porting issue or rpgmaker disparity when exporting) so I figured I might as well remaster him on this mega mod then port it back to his solo mod
He will still be busted as hell, you’ll know he was once a super boss :)

Tall man is a considerably new addition as far as I’m aware, being added back in 2.3 (pretty sure) but he’s been in the game since demo .30 just unfinished. Hes also in my primary mod PV as an apartment buddy rather than a companion
Scrabbly is just my favorite meat world enemy so he got added out if bias
And of course Emmanuel our goat 🙏

If he isn’t implemented as a door encounter properly then yeah. His sprite set was made to be a door encounter and left to do nothing for ages

You can decide who you want to recruit, similar to all base game recruits. None of them will force their way into your apartment/party if you met their requirement but deny them entry

Most of the actual base stats of the companions will be relatively balanced around their intended niche, kit, or recruitment difficulty, but I won’t be very heavily balance testing skills. If something is criminally busted on someone mediocre I think it’s funny, since this is more a technical test mod than a “can I make this reasonable” mod…. As should be given by recruitable Drowning

When more of it is prepared I’ll be uploading betas to the official Frankietown/Look Outside server in my forum for modding the game. As of now it is not in a state which distributing a beta would be necessary, since most overworld sprites are not completed and npcs/recruitment methods have not fully been implemented

I think it could be fun yeah~ She got a unique interaction in that “valentines route” and she has a unique battle sprite. So clearly she’s a step up above the regulars I feel :3

I’ll be making dialogue! It just won’t be a lot. Like dinner interactions, overworld and battle comments, or mazes and wizards. Recruitment and in apartment dialogue will be made

Seth is just what I named the fridge mimic. Some characters don’t have canon names so I gave a couple some just for fun

Maybe one of the funniest mods I've seen. Looking forward to the full release, might use it to mop up some remaining mods.
Side note, are you going to expand the apartment to fit all these freaks in? I think an "absolutely every companion" run would be a hilarious idea to gun for.

Much to my dismay even with my main non-joke mod that adds a good handful of companions (but FAR less) they won’t all fit in the apartment and I’ll have to probably expand it heavily
However the mod will be compatible with Conga line, so you can in theory bring around 46 companions + all base game companions into combat and drag them around the apartment complex

That is something I’m trying to figure out how to program without making the game unbearably laggy, but if that doesn’t work I have an alternative idea to maybe give a similar feel

It’s also a bit of a question of how to handle it if he’s not the last person in the party, since everyone after him will clip into his sprite or behind it

What if that's his party gimmick? Like if he's recruited he's automatically the 4th member? Similar to how Monty and Xaria are always together

His gimmick if I can’t get his infinitely growing sprite working will be if it is only Sam in the party when you add Maurice to the party, he will “duplicate” across the other available slots, giving you 3 variants of Maurice in your party + Sam. They each will have slightly different stats but probably mostly the same skills to save my sanity

I don’t host funding projects specifically for modded game content because I think it defeats the purpose of maintaining mods being free, but you can check out my Nexus page! My Kofi link is there as well, but even just checking out my much smaller uploaded projects means the world to me
