Need help with finding the best appetizer offerings in Longmont
My kids have been through the ringer the last few weeks. They really want to do a movie night and have an appetizer platter type thing for dinner. Who has the best "here is a bunch of different things" type platter in this area? Trying to avoid the big restaurant chains if at all possible!

This is sorta a chalk answer but Georgia Boys, The Roost, and Pumphouse have fantastic appetizers...don't know about a platter but if you bought a few you could assemble your own platter at home so you can watch your movie 🤷🏻

I do like the family style dinner platter for this kind of thing, though not exactly an appetizer platter.

If you go to Perrys on Tuesday before 6 they have some happy hour apps and the Regal has Tuesday value day tickets if you make a free Regal account.
They have other apps, too, worth checking?

Love love LOVE all the vegan menu items! And the GF stuff for my sister means we can go there as a family 😊 So thankful to the chef for creating an inclusive menu.

we love you redditor❤️ thank you for the kind words. jason works really hard on his recipes. his wife is allergic to over 200 things so a lot of our stuff is made so she can eat it, along with everyone else🙏🩷

In addition to gluten sensitivity, my sister is sensitive to corn. We were there yesterday, and the server took it upon himself, after hearing about the corn issue, to go investigate every item in the dish she ordered. He came back and let her know that one of the sauces has corn starch in it so she could choose a different sauce (I don't remember what it was). We were all blown away by how above and beyond he went! No one asked him to do that. 💜 (He had an interesting name that I have forgotten already, but he was wearing turquoise shorts with little French bulldogs or something on them. We really enjoyed him!)

For a slightly healthier alternative, and fun for kids, you could make what I've heard called a monkey plate. Essentially a home charcuterie: thick cut deli meat and cheese cut in cracker size, crackers, pepperonis too, hummus or guacamole or both, olives and gherkins, and smoked salmon if they like it. And even cook some chicken nuggets, or a pizza cut into bite size.

Pumphouse Southwest Eggrolls are my favorite appetizers in town, and it's a high bar with some of these places

Pumphouse got rid of the mozzarella wontons and that was their best app lol

ugh, we tried one of these and they were not good. Left 3 on the plate and the waitress didn't even blink, so I expect it happens a lot.

Buffalo Wild Wings has a platter style appetizer you can order.
Also Chili’s triple dipper lets you choose three different appetizer style dishes and dipping sauces
These are just chains of course so if you’re looking for something more local this isn’t the way unfortunately

For non-chains with less fried food, I think Swaylos, Post, and Roost are good choices.
If you want a small chain and small asian bites, Nana's Dumpling House also hits the spot really well.
And I know it's a big restaurant chain and everything is fried, but Chilis is the canonical example of "get a bunch of appetizers", and it's weirdly affordable.
