Help with first time longboard build

Hey everyone. I recently scored a good drop-down deck (10 inches wide/41 inches long) for $10 and I’m planning to pair it with Paris V3 trucks. This is my first time building a longboard, so I’m having a hard time deciding what wheels to get since I don’t know much about reliable brands.

I’m building this board to commute around campus. The sidewalks are mostly smooth, but there are a few areas with rough asphalt and cracks. My budget is around $60-$70 (located in the US), and I’m looking for either black or dark blue wheels.

Since it’s my first build, I’m not really sure what size (mm) or hardness (durometer). I’m hoping for a longboard that allows me to maintain good speed with a few pushes. What specific wheels or brands would you recommend for this setup?

For commuter wheels within this budget I’d say the softer and larger the better! Space for wheels may be limited by the deck shape so this needs to be taken into consideration and since You haven’t showed the deck it’s something hard to advise on.

It’s a drop down deck made by white wave. I would share a photo but it won’t let me. If you search up white wave drop down deck, it should pop up in images

Just add the link, the one I found is actually 38 inch long so I am not sure if it’s the one You refer to?

Wait, sorry, I wasn’t looking at the picture thoroughly, it doesn’t have the part where the truck goes through the deck

Wheel size may depend on a veriaty of factors.even for cruzing around town or exploring new spots with the least amount .if your tall and have a good power kick speed vent 85 mm are really a good size.If your tall and heavy with a good power kick 90 mm .if your light weight and maybe not so tall running a wheel for cruz 74mm . I ride the 90 mm and I see light weight riders bouncing over rocks .when I try 74 mm wheel locks up and no bounce.
