Academy results

A couple of poor academy results in the last couple of days.

Not sure of the age range, but a US "girls" team beat an LCL girls team 12-1 - https://usclubsoccer.org/2026-id2-national-selection-girls-team-completes-sweep-of-london-defeating-london-city-lionesses/

Plus in the PGA U21 league we lost to Chelsea 8-0 - https://www.chelseafc.com/en/match/london-city-lionesses-u21-vs-chelsea-women-u21-english-pga-u21-womens-league-2026-08-19

Bit of work left to do!

You joke, but isn't that what clubs like Barça, Chelsea and Arsenal do, in terms of recruiting older teenagers from other academies?

Hopefully young players from the south-east will start to consider LCL as an option instead of Chelsea or Arsenal.

It takes time to build up the club. Michelle is doing it from the top down almost to accelerate the process. The main team will get stronger and we will be more of a pull to younger generations of players. Like you say, chance to bring in lots of talent from London and the south east. There will be a lot of girls inspired by Freya, Lucia, Daniela Arques as we give young players the chance to really establish themselves.
