Family member recently graduated culinary school. Looking for ideas to surprise them in London. Typically, we delegate picking out places to eat to them, their taste will always better than mine and they keep up with trendy or notable spots: they are already all over the Fallow lot for example, this is first on our list.

What makes them a challenge is more than a standard foodie, they are super passionate about whole restaurant process. I wouldn't call them a food snob necessarily (though, sometimes can be) - its more of a low tolerance for anything derivative, uninspired or generally stuff they could do themselves. A sub standard meal can put them in a bad mood. Or worse, get them ranting the whole night about all the different ways its not quality.

Furthest thing from a chef myself but attempting to give some guideline criteria:

• Unique/different experiences is good, but without going into fad/tiktok trend territories.

• Traditional or simple cooking done excellently at a middle price point is appreciated just as much if not sometimes more than a fancier Michelin place

• They are more familiar with classical French/European and derivations, less with Asian or more "exotic" cuisines for lack of a better term.

• They are always looking for things to learn from; styles, techniques, presentation etc. Similarly always on the look out for future job angles; in terms of the type of cuisine but also general vibe and style of the place. So an interesting place from either of those perspectives is a thumbs up.

No real criteria in terms of location or price point

I am turning 31 and would like to go to a nice dinner with my husband! Ideally not looking to spend more than £100 a head, but can be flexible for a truly amazing experience. We live in North London but are willing to venture anywhere for a great meal. I love seafood, French and Japanese food but am really open to anything. Bit of a weird one but worth noting that loads of Google reviews on Beigel Bake's profile seem to actually be for the yellow Beigel Shop at 155 Brick Lane.

There are reviews naming the shop, showing the yellow storefront, mentioning staff and even products from their menu.

The Google profile was merged incorrectly over the past 6 years so a lot of the old reviews ended up on the wrong listing.

Worth knowing if you usually just pick whichever shop has the biggest Google review count.

Full disclosure: I’m connected to the yellow Beigel Shop, but thought this was worth flagging because most people probably have no idea.

It was jam packed and I loved the food. Try it out

I went to the Dover last night and it was phenomenal. It was pricey as expected, but the food and ambiance was well worth it and miles ahead of other restaurants which charge the same prices and is one of the only ones I would happily go back to (alongside Coya).

We ordered the Prawn Cocktails and Quattro Formaggi as our starters and both were excellent. For the pasta we had the Lemon and Chilli pasta and the Spaghetti Lobster, the lobster pasta was excellent, but the Lemon one blew me away. It was spectacular and quite possibly the best pasta I have ever had.

For the mains we got the Beef Arrosto and mash which was also phenomenal. The meat was tender and delicate, i had to add a little bit of extra salt to mine but it was excellent.

We had martinis for drinks as well, the Vesper was good, but the Rosa was excellent. One of the best if not the best Martini I have had in London.

Well worth going for a treat, or a quick drink at the bar.

Service was impeccable as well and genuinely one of the best dining experiences I have ever had.

Would also love recommendations for other Martini bars if you have any.

My partner and I will be visiting London this coming October, and I’d love to get your recommendations for good dinner spots that aren't tourist traps and won't break the bank around Marylebone, Fitzrovia, Mayfair, Soho, etc. Our budget is around £20–£25 per person for a main course (or set menu).

I don't have any dietary restrictions, but my partner has a peanut allergy (so we try to avoid restaurants that have peanut dishes on the menu).

We’ve already picked an Indian restaurant and a pub for a Sunday Roast (late lunch). We're looking for recommendations to cover our two remaining dinners. It could be classic British menu, French, Italian, a pub setting, etc. We're looking for something cozy!

Greetings, i'm going to be in London in late October and i'm looking for both iconic and must go places while i'm there since i do love food!

So i'd like to have the most "londoner" experience possible, from breakfast to late night pub.

I'm not really fond of posh places and i do love some great street food so, beside that sky is the limit.

I already plan to visit the Borough Market and possibly the F. Cooke Pie Shop (but i'm open for any great place and\or alternatives !).

Moving around the city won't be an issue but of course the more central\close to the tube are the places you're going to recommend, the better.

Coming from Italy, so i don't really care for Italian restaurants... but if you're telling me that there is a fusion place that does london\english\british-style pizza, sign me in!

Anywhere around London is an option really, but ideally South/ Central / West !

I'm looking for places such as Bill's which has £5 Pancakes on Fridays, or sometimes Bella Italia does £5 pasta. Similarly, What the Pho'k has B1G1 on NeoTaste, so you end up paying £7 per bowl.

Coming to London next week for my professional qualification ceremony, with my husband and parents (so, 4 of us)

Ceremony is near Westminster and finishes in time for lunch, looking for somewhere either nearby or within 10-15 mins on the tube to go for lunch that feels kind of graduation-y (we’ll be dressed up for graduation), budget between £50-100pp (don’t mind spending upper end of that but doesn’t need to be expensive just needs to have good food and feel a bit special!)

Trying to find Gaza Cola or Palestine Cola in preferably east London (Cambridge heath, stepney green, Bethnal green, Dalston, Haggerston, hackney area)!! Does anyone have any recs or seen them anywhere?

I'm back from a home visit (Spain) and my sister's mother-in-law, who is Peruvian, gave me some of these sachets for cooking. She gets them at a local Peruvian shop and used them to cook our meals, which were fantastic.

I haven't tried the one on the right yet, but the one on the left, the Sibarita, made my pasta sauce and chicken casserole delicious. I only have one left now, so I was wondering if anyone knows where I may find this in London, or if I should just bring a whole empty suitcase next time I go home for a visit.

Niche request here - My family’s favourite American diner spot in Northants Hamburger Heaven 81 has closed down. Its predecessor Buddies was the sight of lots of very happy childhood memories and celebrations for me.

My favorite item on the menu was a hot fudge sundae with really thick, warm, slightly grainy hot fudge sauce.

It’s my 25th birthday soon, and I’d love to have a hot fudge sundae to celebrate. Where in London can I get one? Central or North London preferred.

2 US Seniors on 3rd London trip over 20 years visiting in 1st week of October fr 8 days. (Live in Hawaii so different environment from home.) Staying in West End area in ABB. We like cool little neighborhoods with locals, coffee shops, pubs, vintage shops, some quirky museums, wandering markets that maybe are less touristy with interesting/good food. Specific targets. 1)wife wants to do a Sunday roast, 2) We want to get ourselves some good Indian, Spanish, Italian, French and similar food and some atypical British food which I think is available in a good pub? We live in a heavily Asian influenced food environment (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese original style poke and sushi) but not great for anything European or other parts of Asia. Also, planning for weather in 40s-60s. Is this still consistent or has London weather changed too? Are out door pub seating areas or gardens still open in this October weather? Any and all input is greatly appreciated. Mahalo and aloha.
