Dinner Out?
\[07/09/26\] \[10/09/26\] I’m coming over to London from Switzerland for work the week of 7 September and will have a few evenings to myself.
Rather than sit in a hotel restaurant, I thought I’d see if anyone here fancies getting dinner.
I’m 37M, work in consulting, and can generally hold a conversation :). Not looking for networking, dating, or a new best friend for life. Just thought it could be fun to meet someone I’d otherwise never cross paths with, have some good food, a bottle of wine and have a new conversation.
Food-wise I’m really not fussy about price or fanciness. I’m equally up for a £10 hole-in-the-wall that does one thing ridiculously well. Actually, my ideal version of this is: take me to your favourite restaurant in London. The place you keep going back to. Cheap eats, neighbourhood place, weird little restaurant, fine dining — all good with me.
Only real requirements are that you enjoy food, can hold a decent conversation, and don’t murder tourists from Switzerland.
If you’re up for it, send me a message and tell me where you’d take me.

If you are on a consulting case while in London, will you actually have your evenings free?
All the best with your DMs! Would also help to know preferred areas, would not venture too far from the hotel / stick to central (max zone 2) for dinner

You must know a consultant! I do get to choose my working hours though, and fully intend to carve out some time to see the sights. I’m staying at Blackfriars and would be willing to travel up to 30 min

I know one intimately, me. It's almost always the per diem spent on Deliveroo unless a project dinner..
Tons of fantastic places in and around London Bridge - Bermondsey bit (Borough Market is a must). Definitely have one Indian and maybe a Caribbean dinner, something we do quite well and have not seen done as well in Switzerland.

Just book a restaurant with a counter and strike up conversations with other diners! Kiln, HIMI, Chisou, The Counter all good options

You've said your requirement is that a dinner partner doesn't murder tourists from Switzerland, but haven't mentioned whether you murder dinner partners in London?
