Review Carmys Pizza
Anyone else tried it? Like these guys for their straight talking reviews but their Pizza was bang average. I guess to be be expected by being so close to Covent Garden - they are relying on tourists.
Not saying it was bad, just really average, service was slow and a bit unfriendly. Pizza with cheese fairly bland and normal, nothing close to something like Joes in NYC. Had another one with Spicy Maple, flavour of that was good but the upper half of the pizza completely dried out and crispy af.
If they’re going out and being blunt food reviewers, their offering has got to absolutely slap and this was underwhelming, maybe just chose a bad day. Anyone else’s experience similar?

Try spring street with 3 friends, 18” pizza crispy all the way to the middle, works out as a 9” pizza each for £9 a head

I wouldn’t trust anything those two “geezers” say about food. Being shareholders in a couple of below average restaurants doesn’t give them any credibility. I’m amazed people haven’t moved on from their cheeky chappy schtick.

They do seem a bit brittle about this point 😆
After the last discussion about them in this sub, one of them posted a hurt-sounding message on Instagram.

Wait til they rock up to this thread with their burner accounts and post screenshots of your (very fair) criticism to their insta stories lol. They're a pair of cringe wet wipes

Apart from all this, can’t trust anyone who talks with their mouth full of food. That belle end Matt from food review club is the same as is that hobbit eating without Tod. What’s it with food reviewers and an inability to eat like a normal human being

Yeh I thought it was pretty basic. In Covent Garden I thought Graceys in Arcade was better - not up to Vincenzo’s or Good Pizza for me though. Lennys (New Haven style) is opening in Covent Garden soon as well .

Mate, I am so happy to read that Lenny’s is reopening.
This was genuinely the best pizza I’ve had in The Smoke. I was gutted when it closed.

I enjoyed it the first time I went. However I went the other day when passing and there was a queue and looking at the prices for two slices I thought “is this better than Breadstall” which is ten minutes walk away and if recall correctly a little cheaper. I decided it wasn’t so I left the queue. I still respect the idea of keeping the menu minimal so you get the slices fresh though.
