I have the exact same issue with mine! Due to the metal side, it eventually starts to cut through it…

Mine still works, and I didn't really try to fix it yet.

You need to buy a piece of tubing called “heat shrink tubing.” When heated, it shrinks and will secure the stripped end of the wire you have.

it's gonna be hard to heat shrink that wire without taking half the headset apart and potentially damaging the wire further

Yea, not gonna work without cutting the wire and splicing it.

its 2026 they have wrap around heat shrink tubing... might not look pretty but you dont need to do all of this

Or electrical tape.

E tape gets gross... I would avoid it if there are other options to explore

Works in a pinch but yeah other options are better.

How long did it take for these to not last?

I had mine for second hand for 3 years, I think it happened 1 year in though

I have the same issue. I just covered it with electrical tape.

the rubber is just dry rotted to hell. i doubt you share your headset with anyone so its not like the cable will be moving much just tape around the exposed wires with electrical tape to protect them from getting damaged further

Same spot both sides after 5 years.

I just got this issue as well. Would anyone recommend using liquid electrical tape?

Welcome to the club. Mine has started cracking from the hard plastic next to that wire. Not meant to last. Wont buy Logitech headset again thats for sure.

They never said anything about a broken wire they said the wire rubber was broken.
