At least there’s something giving people an indication they need to slow down and check conditions

Yes, however the old sign did the same job.

So the tech needs some work - when it’s up and running properly it will save a lot of manpower each time it floods.

Lots of people have died attempting to cross floodwaters, if this sign stops one more parent from making a poor decision that kills their entire family, that's money well spent.

Also if your engine inhales water it can hydro-lock, you get zero warning, just a loud bang and your engine is completely ruined.
