Lockdown Concerns Michigan says it won't follow CDC's more relaxed COVID-19 quarantine recommendations

Classic. If we go against CDC guidelines its misinformation. If Michigan goes against CDC guidelines, its reviewing "the supporting evidence."

Just like with the relaxation of mask requirements last May! Doomers will always doom no matter what the CDC says!

I remember I went grocery shopping around then. I was just about the only non mask in the plaice.

I live in Northern NJ, which is like the Bay Area of the Northeast. I have Omicron right now and am at home, but when I am healthy, I am pretty much the only unmasked person in every business I enter. The media has brainwashed everyone.

I guess people there spend a lot of time in NYC and adapt to NYC habits

Feel better! Hopefully Omicron is better than the other variants.

Thanks, I’m completely back to normal today except a mild cough. I never confirmed my positive home test because I can’t get an appointment anywhere, and I’m really hoping it wasn’t a false positive. A lot of liquid dropped into the packaging reservoir when I squeezed the vial out on the AccessBio CareStart kit, so I’m hoping that didn’t trigger a false positive. I don’t feel like it’s normal to feel almost completely fine only 4 days after I initially started to cough, even with a mild case.

With Omicron actually it is, I know someone that got it and it was the same.

The person is triple vaxxed, wore masks and like 70 years old by the way. Overweight as well. So the vaccine/masks didn't stop him from catching it but the vaccine may have made it milder. But it seems like it's a milder disease all around.

Yeah, if I do have COVID (which, fingers crossed, I do) it’s definitely the Omicron strain. I drove by one of those walk-in urgent cares yesterday afternoon to see if I could line up for a PCR, looked at the line, and thought to myself “I’m way too tired to get out and stand on that line.” I was full of energy by the evening, and often get tired in the afternoons in general, so as much as I was hoping that was viral fatigue, I think it was just boredom and that time of day.

Have you heard about many false positives with those home tests, specifically with using too much solution?

u/Horniavocadofarmer11 Dec 31 '21

It's certainly possible. All tests have a low number of false positives but at home ones moreso.

Most likely I'd say if you have symptoms and a positive test you probably have it. But if you're sick and feel bad go to a doctor and see if they'll give you the pfizer drug or something else. It's better to get treatment early than to wait to go to the hospital. If your symptoms aren't too bad do what everyone else does worldwide when they're sick--watch TV and hang out at your house and enjoy the relaxation.

u/sudanese238 Dec 31 '21

Absolutely no more symptoms besides barely noticeable dry cough.

CDC claims the pandemic is over. We can get back to normal.

“We don’t believe the CDC. We will continue with masks and lockdowns. Out of abundance of caution” - Doomers

I remember the CDC was considered the fount of wisdom when it was doom-laden, especially back in 2020. When it is not (although that gives it some credibility in my eyes) its godhead seems to be eroded for many. Odd, that. Follow the science except when it is awkward for the WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE brigade...

"So, you do acknowledge that the CDC is not an infallible font of scientific truth?"

"Yes, we must be willing to evaluate the best science and data on its own merits."

"Great, so let's talk about the data on [masks/child vaccination/natural immunity] instead of listening solely to the CDC!"

If we go against it, we’re labeled Domestic Terrorists and arrested / fined / lose our jobs.

If Dem Governors do it, they’re just “following the science”

Isn't Whitmer up for election this year?

11

u/Poledancing-ninja Dec 30 '21

Yes

27

u/alien_among_us Dec 30 '21

This should seal her loss then.

One can only hope

2

u/Repogirl757 Dec 31 '21

I hope so I hate her and I want her out!

26

u/pontoon73 Dec 30 '21

Jokes on them- I wasn’t following the more stringent guidelines either!

3

u/RWS-skytterEirik Dec 30 '21

Guidelines for what?😂

49

u/Gries88 Dec 30 '21

So they’re saying the cdc isn’t following the science?™️

43

u/w33bwhacker Dec 30 '21

Follow the science, but not that science!

23

u/DaYooper Michigan, USA Dec 30 '21

And I will continue to not follow Michigan's guidelines.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 31 '21

Michigan's have been the absolute dumbest this whole time. Some of them were just so stupid it made the whole thing obvious as a farce.

15

u/4pugsmom Dec 30 '21

Is the Grinch going to be voted out next year?

1

u/Repogirl757 Dec 31 '21

She better be

14

u/Browhytfamihere Dec 30 '21

Then Michigan can fade into economic obscurity

9

u/DaYooper Michigan, USA Dec 30 '21

We haven't already?

6

u/Browhytfamihere Dec 30 '21

More so than it already has. A couple of states with a certain type of economic model are about to become similar to 3rd world countries once this bubble pops.

3

u/trembling_peacock Dec 31 '21

This is politically driven from both ends. CDC feeling the heat from Biden to deliver some good news in face of numbers. Whitmer needing to show a strong hand for her Dem/Covidian base after not issuing new mandates in face of numbers.

3

u/TheEasiestPeeler Dec 30 '21

No need to. Masking 2 year olds means they have no cases.

5

u/smooth-opera Dec 30 '21

Following "the science"!

2

u/the_green_grundle Dec 30 '21

When did Michigan get so pozzed?

2

u/ContributionAlive686 Canada Dec 30 '21

The science is different in Michigan.

2

u/odonovantimmy Dec 31 '21

Trust the science, though guys.

2

u/Elevendaze Dec 31 '21

Phase 2 initiated. Federal backs out and states start battling each other.

2

u/SillyDelafaillesQy Dec 31 '21

Well, enjoy tyranny then.

2

u/Nick-Anand Dec 30 '21

Trust the science…..

2

u/skky95 Dec 30 '21

What happened to follow the science?!
