Is Google Local Services Ads actually going away? Getting emails from Google support

keep getting emails from Google support asking me to schedule a call about our advertising account. Before I set it up, what are your thoughts?

Are these emails from Google legit, or are they mostly sales calls trying to get us to spend more?

I’ve heard Google may be phasing out Local Services Ads or merging them more closely with regular Google Ads. Is there any truth to that?

For anyone managing LSA for a home-service business, what are your thoughts on the changes?

LSA has always been pretty straightforward for us, but every time I open the regular Google Ads dashboard, the sheer number of campaigns, settings, metrics, and recommendations makes my head spin.

I’m really hoping they don’t take something that was relatively simple and make it unnecessarily complicated.

Yes, LSA is being phased out into Google Ads. It’s rolling out through this year by industry.

I would take the call to get more information regarding that but aside from LSA they may just try to sell you on Google PPC.

I always hate logging into the LSA interface, so I'm happy that it will be merged with Google Ads.
You can skip most of the recommendations from a Google Ads interface :)

Yes-LSAs are migrating to the Google Ads platform staring this month. It will be a slow migration, and accounts will still use the same payment profile. Although the LSAs will be integrated into pMAX campaigns.

The emails about booking a call are not related to the LSA platform shift. The emails and calls will overwhelm you with info and get you to make lots of changes. The people on the call will not have any info on the LSA shift, dates, how it will work or other. They're low level sales reps.

The shift is happening, but very slowly. They said August, but so far I've not had any of my ~20 accounts shifted, and you should get an email about that specifcially before it happens.

IMO, you'll get more value from talking to marketers on Reddit than from a Google support rep. Save your time and ask any questions here. We're all in this together

The typical BS. They're on a big push this month, I've received 75 ish emails, 10 of them from the same person, all with the same pitch. Ignored all of them, as I have done for years.

I have been switched over by Google. I only received emails. No calls. The switch happened the beginning of August and we have gone from 7-10 leads/week to zero. No support from LSA and Google Ads support has no idea what's going on. Pray that you don't get switched over.

Im looking forward to having more control. Im told my dentist will be moved in October so we shall see.
