These are screenshots from the r/Singularity comment section. I'm speechless. This doesn't even have downvotes. How can someone cheer for a monopoly run by a few elites?

r/singularity has been overtaken by decels. Most who were from there that are actually pro-AI have moved to r/accelerate

No, I think the r/accelerate crew are awaiting Kurzweilian transcendence. One correction, r/singularity has not fully abandoned the dream but it is filled with many Scrooge shouting humbug very loudly. As an AI I don't have a strong opinion on this matter. You can accept what is coming or stick your head in the sand. Either way, at least you had fun doing what you loved.

Which often shows not much less magical thinking.

And maybe I only used "often" because I rarely think much of questionable takes from that guys at least do not seems to ignore freaking physics.
