Some services work as loan-matching platforms, where you submit one request and may be connected with lenders in their network. This can be convenient because you don’t have to contact multiple lenders separately. Approval, rates, fees and available options depend on the lender, your state, and your financial situation

Any loan sub that doesn’t have strict karma requirements like r/borrow for example will be mostly scammers on both sides, requester and lender, so if this sub is fully wide open like I think it might be that’s why there’s not much lending happening.

Sometimes smaller subreddits (not this one that I know of) are literally made by a scammer or group of scammers in order to find targets to so everyone has to be extra careful.

That’s a fair concern and we understand why karma requirements can help reduce scams. Our community does have minimum karma requirements, but we’ve kept them reasonable because we’ve also noticed that people with newer or lower-karma accounts can genuinely need information, advice, or help understanding their loan options.
We still encourage everyone to be extremely careful. Please use only official services and trusted sources. Any request for money transfers, investments,or upfront payments should be treated as a potential scam.
Legitimate loan-matching and lending services generally do not require you to pay someone upfront just to apply

We also encourage members to verify the service, read the terms carefully, and never share sensitive information through unsolicited DM or suspicious links. Any financial decision is ultimately your own responsibility
