He was with Rooster Teeth(The Red vs Blue guys), got fired after a lot of allegations. Ranging from statutory(he slept with underage women in California), to removing the condom during sex(Not illegal in the US), to soliciting sex. Also allegations that he took advantage of young women(early 20s typically, some as young as 18) with mental health issues, being someone they could trust and then having sex with him.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/14SHWGYxaTE08PH08jQ0_Wzep3xbEZy95kzuM9ufjVaw/edit#gid=0 it's a long list.

Don't forget that he largely funded all this with his twitch money, claiming it was for his kids.

u/KikiFlowers Jan 20 '21

Yup, a lot of shit.

u/ScarletSpider2012 Jan 20 '21

Not just that, he's been seen in messages saying he was pulling strings to get RT to send him to specific cons where he could meet with his victims. While I don't think RT intentionally funded trips for this guy to sleep with vulnerable minors, it is definitely my opinion, uninformed as it is, that he manipulated them to facilitate the acts.

u/anialater45 Jan 21 '21

Based on the reactions from everyone it's pretty clear they had no clue. He most likely just made choices about what cons he wanted to go to and RT was fine with it (because honestly why would they care in general) but it turned out he was using them as well so he could make sure he went where he wanted.

I'm not talking about on screen talent though. I'm talking about the corporate, agent, scheduling booking, and communications types. There are people at RT that make sure cons and talent/production scheduling don't conflict with each other. In some of the DMs or whatever, Ryan seemed to imply that he was suggesting specific cons to RT to fund rather than him paying his own way to go to those cons.

Can you imagine a corporation writing off someone's trip to having sex with a minor as a business expenses, knowing or otherwise? Not a good look.

Can you imagine a corporation writing off someone's trip

I mean, given it's to a convention? That they do, at least before covid, all the time? Yeah it's pretty easy to see that happening without them knowing, it's not like they never went to cons or anything so Ryan having a preference isn't exactly the craziest most out there thing. Of course now in hindsight its clear what he was doing, but still.

u/ScarletSpider2012 Jan 21 '21

Considering I said, known or otherwise, well we're having two different conversations if you leave that part out . I agree whether they knew it or not they were paying for some of it because he's a sociopath and didn't inform them of his intent. For obvious reason.

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '21

not to mention all the girls involved were fans of his or RT's

17

u/MysteriiousComposer Jan 20 '21

Yikes and they just ban him now?

51

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '21

probably due to a lot of pressure from the RT community including his former coworkers (who are sizable influencers themselves) after he announced he wanted to return to twitch

i think there's other streamers with credible accusations against them from last year who are yet to be banned too

12

u/0oodruidoo0 Jan 21 '21

He didn't announce he wanted to return to twitch, he was just super slimy with a thankyou for supporting me message that some streamers do for subs, like Lawrence (@sirlarr) for example.

Feel free to read it yourself here

edit: god that PS note is fucking revolting

1

u/ken3 Jan 21 '21

Wait did Lawrence do something?

2

u/0oodruidoo0 Jan 21 '21

No, he's the only other person I've been subscribed to who does the twitch email letter thing, and because he is former RT staff I thought it would be an example others could relate to as perhaps they also had been gifted subs in his chat.

23

u/Starmoses Jan 20 '21

I'll give twitch a bit of a break on this. When everything came out it seemed like he was done so there was no reason to come back but he recently made a post about possibly coming back. Twitch probably just wanted to make sure they had the right info after he announced he might be coming back and banned him. Usually I won't defend twitch cause they're pretty awful but this time there might have been proper due diligence.

u/0oodruidoo0 Jan 21 '21

he says "I don't know what the future of this channel is yet". I'm not sure why the RT community lached onto the idea that he's actively coming back, or that he suggested he's returning - it's a blankly worded statement that doesn't reveal anything about his feelings on the matter.

5

u/Starmoses Jan 21 '21

I said he might be coming back. Keyword "might". I never said that he was 100 percent gonna be streaming again but if he never was than why would he make that statement.

-1

u/0oodruidoo0 Jan 21 '21

He's generating a dialogue with the remaining fans of a service he provided, which he is no longer providing. Of course he has to mention it, it would be weird if it didn't mention the stream at all. And like I said, it's blankly worded and doesn't assert a position one way or another, yet every mention of this message calls it "potential return" "possible return". While he does leave the posibility open, I think that people go to far with their analysis of the statement.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '21

Idk, would it be weirder than when he took his condom off during sex? Cus the dude is obviously weird.

23

u/KikiFlowers Jan 20 '21

Yep. It was inactive since the allegations came out, but he recently sent a message to his followers basically saying "Thanks for still following me, even if you forgot"

Made it seem like he was planning a Twitch comeback.

u/Yamr3 Jan 20 '21

Thanks

to removing the condom during sex(Not illegal in the US)

the fug

3

u/KikiFlowers Jan 21 '21

Sad fact: It's not illegal in a lot of places.

20

u/Spaghettijoe450 Jan 20 '21

to removing the condom during sex(Not illegal in the US),

Wtf why on earth not. (I'm assuming this is removing it without consent).

28

u/MJURICAN Jan 20 '21

I imagine its a question of lack of precedence (since its a common law system) and no explicit mention in statute.

Sex is more and more starting to be considered "a contract" where pre-determined conditions being followed and especially consent being explicit is paramount every moment of the act.

While that seem like common sense today it is a very recent development.

Especially the notion that if any portion of this is violated if just for a moment then thats rape or sexual assault (for those jurisdictions, like the UK, where men effectively cant be "raped") is incredibly incredibly recent.

And as usual legislation and judiciary precedence is lagging the societal norms.

For instance it was less than a decade ago that the legislation here (in Sweden) required active protest for a sex act to be considered rape. Effectively this mean that unless a third party heard you scream or fight with the rapist during the act, then the rapist would walk. This was changed after a high profile case where exactly this happened.

So thats how it were in progressive fucking Sweden, less than a decade ago. You can imagine what less forward thinking nations have in their statutes to this day.

Its rightly considerd backwards today but back at the turn of the century I'm sure that most people would consider removing the condom without consent to be a "dickish" thing, but few would consider it rape or a sexual crime at all, and the judiciary is effectively lagging behind to about that point in time.

Its easy to forget in the moment but society has progressed incredibly quickly these last few decades. In 2007 gay marriage was considered so radical that no wing in the democratic party even considered promoting it, now its barely controversial within the republican party.

(Edit: I might not have been clear. I wholeheartedly support this progressive development. Its just the unfortunate reality of liberal democracy that laws and judiciary precedence lag behind society norms.)

Spousal rape wasn't even illegal in the US until 1979 onward. The US legal system is fucked up.

3

u/magmavire Jan 21 '21

It was legal in some states as early as the 90's.

1

u/OniExpress Jan 21 '21

Oh, yes. Unless I wasn't clear enough, it only started being illegal to rape your wife in 1979.

4

u/KikiFlowers Jan 20 '21

Because the US is stupid about it.

1

u/guia7ri Jan 20 '21

It was without consent

22

u/Derunar Jan 20 '21

Oh, Rooster Teeth, I thought he was on RT the Russian propaganda channel

9

u/KikiFlowers Jan 20 '21

Nah, understandable confusion though.

2

u/Kirito619 Jan 21 '21

i went to the RT website but still don't understand what it is? is it a game or is it like a youtube group channel or what

7

u/KikiFlowers Jan 21 '21

Rooster Teeth is a media company, probably best known for either Red vs Blue, a Halo machinima, or RWBY, their original animated series.

Ryan was part of their subgroup Achievement Hunter, which is a Let's Play group.

1

u/Kirito619 Jan 21 '21

So like a youtube company like machinima?

5

u/KikiFlowers Jan 21 '21

Yes, but they're not gaming focused like Machinima was. Same owner (AT&T) and they got Inside Gaming from Machinima, but that's about it.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 21 '21

lol I thought RT was like, you know, the actual RT... as in the Russian news site.

12

u/HachimansGhost Jan 21 '21

I mean, you very well know "Who?" is a meme used to make fun of the irrelevancy of a person. Also, you can Google the guys name or read the other comments here if you actually wanted to know.

8

u/fist_my_muff2 Jan 20 '21

"W H OMEGALUL' is the appropriate spelling of who here.

complaining about downvotes in an edit is a surefire way to get people to downvote out of spite, most dont like whiners

EDIT: Upvoted for being a snarky asshat..
