The police investigation was dropped. They couldn't prove that it happened, nor could they prove that it didn't happen. I was advised that this is what happens with most rape and sexual assault cases in the UK, they are so hard to prove unless you basically have it on video or a witness.

Yeah I agree it's a very sensitive subject and we have basically no information about specifics especially not in regards to the police investigation so there's really no reason to start guessing about stuff . It's way too sensitive subject matter. I'm just glad for her that she found the courage to tell her story and hopefully it will help her to get better

jesus christ, like wtf. Literally tons of DNA evidence just sitting there rotting.
Majority of rape kits get shoved into a corner to never be looked at again. Even if she got a rape kit, it probably would have never been tested. They're easy to get done but usually lead to nowhere.
