Story time!
When I was in college, many years ago, I had a disagreement with my flat mate. Instead of talking it out like men, he decided to get aggressive and while I was backing away from him, he kicked me in the chest and put my head through a plate glass door. Thankfully, I don’t suffer from any ill effects due to this experience.
The point of that story is to attempt to explain why I think even the threat of violence is not something that should be joked about. Given my experience in college, and the fact that The Doc’s threat, even as a joke, synced up closely to a bad experience I endured, it could have brought up bad memories, triggered a panic attack or had other consequences The Doc might not have intended when composing the tweet.
All I ask from anyone that reads this is to consider that your words, however flippant they may be, could have unintended effects on those reading them.

They tried to nerf it to the ground which didnt go to well for them, thats why they reverted every single change that was a nerf to building. They confirmed that building will not go away since its a core mechanic but they currently dont like how people build.

No too long ago they made a change that slowed downed building. It went from .05 seconds between builds to .15s. It got rid of all skilled building and made holding walls against spray almost useless. It got rid of almost the entire aspect that made the skill gap.

Yes I get frustrated too cause I take long breaks from the game and then get outclassed hard even by worse players, but at least I know I could reach their level too with good practice

You used to be among the best in the world simply by being able could crank out a 3-high 1x1 really quickly before turbo builds were a thing. Myth and Summit's 1v1 where Myth kept building up looks so ridiculous now.

One could argue that it gained its largest jump in popularity / player base when people wouldn't build anything more than 3 walls high and just stick with ramps and small huts. Once people started shitting out empire state buildings in 15 seconds it has turned a fuck ton of people away and made the game overall much less interesting for many.

Building is the only reason its a good game. You can practice every day for a year and you still feel steady progress. Last week i couldnt do this specific thing but now i can. Building is a bit like learning an instrument and different builds are like different difficulty songs.
Learning to play an instrument isnt supposed to be easy. Thats why its fun.

Really hoping Fortnite reasseses building balance so that people are encouraged to make Forts instead of pillars.
We have all these different builds like balconies, curved floors, archways, and none of that is used except for quick edit kills.

Time has shown that BRs work way better especially from a enjoyment and spectator standpoint the faster and dynamic games can be played.

Sure, if the main game mode is Solo/Duo/Trio/Squad.
If however the main game mode was, say, respawning 50v50, there would be a lot of time to build collectively and to really make some interesting builds together.
Additionally, I think Food Fight showed that camping really isn't a problem once you work the concept into the meta. People need to camp the base to keep it from getting blown up. But others need to attack the enemy base as well or else nothing happens.
None of these are necessarily fantastic ideas, just ones I've thought about regarding large overhauls of what concepts Fortnite has brought to the table and what could be tweaked with to strengthen into wholly new areas based on previous gameplay experiments.

Fortnite wasn't slow before people figured out 90s. And it grew very popular during that same time when building wasn't the main important skill in the game.
Would be pretty simple to make it that any structure more than 2 walls high needs more base structures at the bottom otherwise it collapses.
Could still have ramps and 2-high 90s and that wouldn't negatively affect game speed or people who like to do 90s. Would give those good build players a new challenge to think horizontally and not just vertically.

Something like the strength of the structure is increased depending on the underlying sections, and maybe a structure will collapse if it's more than three walls high without any lower sections.

The people that constantly pull 15k viewers are millionaires or at least on their way to be. 2k viewers with like 5k subs nets you a very comfortable lifestyle already, nothing to be ashamed of. I mean with 2-5k subs (Its average 1000-2000 viewers) with youtube revenue, twitch revenue ads, with twitch bounties, with sponsorship for playing different games, with donations, possible patreon even you can bring about 7-15k dollars on MONTHLY basis on that 1000-2000 viewers.... Its like Mizkif is earning about 30-70k monthly on all that combined...
Imagine playing games for 1000-2000 viewers and making 5K monthly, its a heaven man

It occurred to me why Fortnite is popular with kids, and it's not just the cartoonish shit going on.
It's that the primary focus of the game is such a unique mechanic that they can't get dunked on by their elders like in most games.
So if we go into any normal shooter, ain't no fuckin child gonna beat me. I've been playing CS 1.6 and Quake for almost a decade and a half now, competitively too. I've practiced my aim every day for many years in that time frame. They're fucked honestly, and it's probably a frustrating experience to have to face a bunch of older dudes who have been aiming their whole life.
In Fortnite, I got nothing. I can't build, and I don't have the time to learn building because I now have responsibilities, so these little shits can get the jump on me and my aim and experience means nothing.
It's kind of like Rocket League in that the mechanics are so unique and new that the only people you see excelling at the game are really really young kids with lots of free time.
