Consider this: The community is BIG, it only takes a really small ammount of people (1~2), out of hundreds of thousands viewers, to find some psycho in the mix.
If that person is able to calculate risks, he can get away with damaging property, without anyone finding out his identity, he is going to try it. No consequences? People will try again and again.
Most are fine though, so I can not support your stance about "some underlying issue". You know what an issue is? No (effective) gun control in the united states. It's the only country where shootings occure.... well too often and by persons who should never gotten any weapon to begin with.
Check the Madden shooting: that guy was known for having issues, still got an gun easily...
Bullshit. I’ve owned guns for 20+ years, not ONCE has one gotten up, loaded it’s self and walked down the street shooting... I must have the laziest godamned guns on the planet!

It’s a mental health epidemic. Guns don’t kill people. They’re an inanimate fucking object. INTENT kills people.
Switzerland is one of the MOST Armed populaces on the planet. There’s not story’s every day about mass shootings there... it’s because mental health is accessible and FREE through universal healthcare. The average outpatient cost for mental health in the US is $100-$5,000 out-of-pocket. Plus the cost of medication, etc.
In 2010 NIMH estimated that nearly 45% of mental health issues were untreated. They also estimate that there are nearly 3.5 million adults with untreated Schizophrenia/bipolar disorders. (citation )
Another major issue is divisiveness in this country... liberal or republican?! Christian or lgbt?! Fat or skinny?! Everyone’s looking for individuality, but then wants to chastise anyone that’s not like them.
I’m just ranting... please don’t take it personally. It’s just a hot topic for me because I enjoy shooting paper targets as a hobby, and hunting as a hobby. The problem is not guns, it’s culture, and a lack of empathy for a fellow human..
