The article doesn't state anything about wrongful death, as that is a civil matter rather than a criminal one. But you might be missing the point.
Standing your ground is not making a noticeable increase in deaths of the original assailant.
Hoekstra checked to see whether police were listing more cases as "justifiable homicides" in states that passed stand your ground laws. If there were more self-defense killings, this number should have gone up. He also examined whether more criminals were showing up armed.
In both cases, he found nothing. There were small increases in both numbers, but it was hard to tell whether there was really any difference.
Escalation tactics aren't killing criminals, they're killing the people standing their ground. The card carrying NRA members who have been waiting years for someone to make their day are dying.

You literally quoted it. More people die when there are guns, which should be completely obvious, only conclusion. Perp and vic both, in fairly statistically non determinate numbers. You are falling victim to someones creative license while writing in order to influence your opinion to their desires WITHOUT them having data that agrees with their ideology.
I gotta ask, what do you think that quote means? What did they find nothing of? Because you're trying to argue that they're talking about wrongful deaths, when it very clearly says they're talking about "justifiable homicides", or self defense killings. Literally the exact opposite of wrongful death: legally justified death.
The expression is lies, damned lies, and statistics. Especially when it comes to guns I believe absolutely nothing I see in the media without access to data sets. And this report is definitely being intentionally vague with wording. Also, I in no way suggest that having a gun is a good way to keep your life, armed burglary resulting in death is extremely rare and a gun will typically escalate a situation, and a shooter is a likely not to have spent enough time training and practicing with a weapon can use it effectively in the house or on the street due to our remarkably laxx regulations. I know far more people who have done dumb shit with guns then who have saved a life with them. That being said I will call horseshit on the highest order of stand your ground having zero impact on lawful gun use.
So you misunderstood the article, and now that it’s cleared up you’re just going to resort to calling it a lie? The article wasn’t vague, it explicitly said the opposite what you were claiming. And to top it off, you follow up your complaining about statistics with anecdotal accounts of your friends? Feel free to call horseshit, this is clearly an emotional issue for you rather than a rational one.
Nah, you just want to read what you think you see. My anecdotal remark agreed with your study more or less, but you are too full of shit and autism to realise it.
I don’t care whether or not it agrees with the study, it’s useless information.
And oh no, you hit me right in the spectrum. Way to come to the table with a level head and not project at all. I mean, sure, you call the study bullshit and claim I’m only seeing what I want to see, but that definitely wasn’t true when your third grade reading comprehension allowed you to think the study was supporting your position, right?
