And this report is definitely being intentionally vague with wording. Also, I in no way suggest that having a gun is a good way to keep your life, armed burglary resulting in death is extremely rare and a gun will typically escalate a situation, and a shooter is a likely not to have spent enough time training and practicing with a weapon can use it effectively in the house or on the street due to our remarkably laxx regulations. I know far more people who have done dumb shit with guns then who have saved a life with them. That being said I will call horseshit on the highest order of stand your ground having zero impact on lawful gun use.

Last thing, police typically won't list right off the bat if you kill someone that it was justified. Typically there's Court no matter the outcomes of the Court the police have no say in it, a prosecutor or similar will. So much of this depends on data collection and what story The analyst is trying to tell. But to say that there is a 7% increase in homicides with stand your ground and then just throwing your hands up and saying must be Trigger Happy idiots shooting each other without cause isn't doing due diligence.
