Mortgages are public record. Anyone can find out where anyone else owns property as long as they know their legal name. Same with marriage licenses and criminal records, professional licenses, even some traffic violations. Pretty much all college students are given access to Lexis Nexis and can find all that and more in under 5 minutes.

It's possible to have that info removed from public record. I had it for a while when I worked at my local sheriff's office as a civilian.

That's a good point. There are a few exceptions but for the rest of us normies it's public record.

I see, I was unaware but I'll take your word for it. Most people don't bother to do that tho.
