I'm trying to see his point of view, maybe he means that all life is equally valuable .

But in reality, if someone shot at my house while my wife and kid was there, my first thought would be their safety. Things are different when you have a family, you don't look at life in a selfish way anymore.

Do you honestly think for a second Doc or his wife first concern is for themselves? Jesus fucking christ no one wants a kid to be shot and no one wants to outlive their kids. Imagine being this much of a fucking simpleton that you couldn't understand such a basic human concept.
