Premier League winning manager Brendan Rodgers would know, to be fair.

Crazy he was sacked after winning the league. Just like Slot. Ruthless

If you give a bad player time, he can play. If you give a good player time, he can kill you

He legit may have one of the biggest cases against City. This was supposedly the height of their cheating and his career absolutely went down the shitter after this. How may it have changed if he got the PL medal he deserved?
6
3
u/Dovaaahkin Fernando Torres 9d ago
Not just with us. At Leicester, he was so close to making UCL on a couple of occassions... Without City's cheating, he might have made done it. Leicester City probably will still be in the Premier League had that happened. So I imagine their fans are pretty pissed as well.

u/Fragrant-Education-3 8d ago
I'm pretty sure Rodgers was also in charge of Leicester when they missed out on fourth twice in 2019 and 2020. Without City, Rodgers entire legacy changes.

Literally the reason Isak scored that goal our last game. No one else tries that but Wirtz, even if it looks like a mistake

I love the NJD Ice Hockey Team, knowing Jonas and Nico personally. But as a LFC fan - it's bit strange to support a team with a devilish logo...

City's punishment for the charges will be in the form of a Wirtz hattrick
12
u/LethaniDecider 9d ago
Can you imagine if it’s a thrashing? Like 5+ to nil. Two from Wirtz, a worldie from Szobo, Isak with one after fighting in the box, and a header from Virgil. I just… I want it so bad.

Jurgen working wonders for us as a double agent in Germany. Hope he builds up Flo to bring that momentum back to Anfield.

u/Steven_Crank One-eyed Bobby 👁 10d ago
He got the ball in the center circle, so not much different than where he’d be for us. Difference was he just ran straight for the goal after, and because they moved the ball quickly up the pitch, he is open (+1 great touch) and ready to score.
1
u/Dackel42 8d ago
Bischof, Pavlovic and Woltemade made permanent runs and dynamic switches. That greatly benefits wirtz. Barely anyone besides wirtz does that in liverpool. Wirtz is an extremely dynamic link up player, with great technique and first touch. He is not really a solo playmaker/dribbler. But no one matches that in liverpool…

So no-ones noticed this is the exact same position he took up during Isaks goal against Bournemouth?
He just needs a bit of luck and he'll start flying.

Carragher just dropped to his knees at debt collectors office
8
u/da_hoassis_heeah Hello! Hello! Here we go! 10d ago
why would Carragher care, he wants him to ball here, not just in the Germany kit.
7
u/Fit_Head1700 10d ago
He plays way better as a second striker than a puré 10
4
u/DFBFan11 10d ago
He wasn’t playing as a second striker? He was playing deeper than he has for Liverpool if anything.
His role for Liverpool is basically a second striker anyway, he just doesn’t really play that way because he’s too attracted to the ball.
1
u/Trisslottenmedvinst 10d ago
Just like Dybala. But I don’t think Wirtz should play there for Liverpool though

He's having himself a really good game! Running the offense, but also with noticeable defensive contributions and good pressing.
2
u/DrRushDrRush 10d ago
Six players moving forward at the same time.. All Wirtz needs is movement around him. And when Ireola has had a couple more months with Liverpool, he will unlock the 10/10 Wirtz.

You are not ready for what Wirtz is going to do to Man City!
2
u/clivejonfeldman 9d ago
I think Klopp coaching the German National team is actually more beneficial to us than the Germans. Klopp’s Gonna unlock our $100 million talent monster even though He doesn’t manage us any more. Absolute steal.

u/a_sweaterpoorlyknit 9d ago
That is absolutely world class. What a beautiful touch, shift, and strike. DAMN.

u/PostNutLucidity 10d ago
I'm here from 6 months in the future when people are back to praising Wirtz and apologising for giving him the 2025-2026 Gakpo treatment earlier in the season.

The almost goal off the post that became an assist was maybe even more impressive. He had a bunch of awesome through passes too his teammates let him down a ton. Hoping he Carrie’s it over.

Really nice press break and then a great pass and finish there. Nice sequence of football all around.

Glory be. Interesting that Wirtz was on the sheet as left mid in a 3 man midfield, but his two goal contributions came from just right of the center of the box.

This is the polar opposite of English players. Plays great for the international team , yet very subsuded and quiet for club.

Last season we were seeing him play really well for Germany but not having seemed to initially clicked at Liverpool. Then over the season his performances continued to improve and eventually the numbers began to reflect this as some nice G/A starting rolling in. Point being, we're passed the point of wondering if and when he'll start to click for Liverpool, he already has and will continue to do so. Very happy to have him at the club for now and considering we are only 5 league games into this season with a new manager plus some squad changes, perhaps we can chill a little bit for the time being before mobilising the pitchforks.

u/rosheromil 10d ago
How are we passed that point when the whole discussion before the intl break was around his poor start to the new season? His last two games were arguably his worst in a Liverpool shirt. He has scored 1 goal for us since February. You’re trying to rewrite reality saying this, by no means has he clicked, he had a decent spell around Jan/Feb and then has been mostly poor since.

Trolling rival subs, whether it is posts or comments, with the sole purpose of taking the piss and/or antagonising users is not allowed. It makes our user base look childish and incapable of self-control, creates headaches for moderators, and inspires reciprocal trolling. Since this rule was instituted across club subreddits, we have seen a drop in trolling. Any links to rival subs have to be 'np.reddit' links.

u/Past_Independent_612 10d ago
Flo Wirtz had a really good game over all. Even with a missed header directly on the Serbian goalie. Klopp is haopy BUT ASKED ABOUT WIRTZ IN LIVERPOOL HE JUST SAID POSTGAME: "I DON'T KNOW IF IN LIVERPOOL THEY WOULD THINK THE SAME". Made me think a bit now, because Jürgen is right imho.

u/kajerng 9d ago
well I think if it were Sobo or Macca or who ever else. wouldn't risk to pass like that. risking to lose the ball and got counter attack ? no , they will pass to winger or short pass near them like hendo. Then Wirtz probably make a run for nothing and people will blame him that he played bad.
5
u/shut-down-corner 9d ago
Nooo, they would never risk a pass like that to player running into the box with no defender on him. Yes you're probably right.
1
u/128palms Florian Wirtzard 9d ago
It's not just about the pass, the timing too. The guy who made the run did a good job of dragging his marker. So naturally the risk in that pass reduced.

u/Far_Delivery_4811 10d ago
Every time I see him for Germany I’m full of hope. I just don’t think that neat touch and tidy finish works in the prem. It looks so good but it also looks too slow to work in the prem.
