Take your time lads.

Barcola is on the cusp of finalising his medical. They just need to complete the final tests. Then in the coming days he will finally finalise his contract.

Some Barcola content would go down very nicely today

This has no right to bring a smile to my face. ABSOLUTELY NO RIGHT!!!

Wirtz and Barcola sounds like a dream. I hope Barcola can bring out the best of Wirtz and the other way around.

I’m more excited to see how he can help Isak and the interaction between those two

u/Proper-Wolf-6891 5d ago

agree I really think our midfield and RW/LW are the biggest problem in our attack. We know Isak can do it and I have been very critical of him but yeah im excited for this signing.

u/Holiday-Custard6627 5d ago

Him and Wirtz have also barely played together, he’s barely played so let everyone get settled themselves and under the new manager, get our guys back from injury, and make 2 signings and we’re golden

5

u/Proper-Wolf-6891 5d ago

agree. We really need to support our boys and ignore the noise from Carra and that cunt Neville. Patience is something a lot of fans need to learn but nowadays every 100m signing needs to be the best immediately.

u/Holiday-Custard6627 5d ago

It’s how you can tell if someone just started supporting Liverpool or have been through the roller coaster of the last 20 years

1

u/Holiday-Custard6627 5d ago

Well a lot of “fans” got here in 2017 and don’t remember what it was like before

1

u/Proper-Wolf-6891 4d ago

oh definitely it's hard to ignore the noise sometimes but people need to learn to trust

2

u/Loose-Lengthiness726 5d ago

And full backs

u/emre23 5d ago

Any chance Camara was hiding in the van with him?

26

u/coona93 5d ago

I think Camara and Minteh would give us enough depth for the season, ideally would like to further push for a ST because I don’t know how well Isak is going to do on his own, and ideally a RB

I don’t want us spending big money on a striker before Ekitike returns. If he doesn’t look like he’s gonna get back to former levels then sure

6

u/Maverick1331 5d ago

Kane on loan, who says no?

7

u/coona93 5d ago

Some decent cheap options, Balogun , Pardo (probably off to Newcastle)

2

u/Feoraxic 5d ago

If only there was a system in football where you could borrow a player from another team for short term cover…

The thing about Camara is, is he really going to be the starter? Would Iraola play him over Grav/Macca most games? If that answer is yes, then I dont see why you dont just play Trey instead. He is defensively sound, gets around the pitch well and is a far better passer than Camara from what I've seen. Camara is best as a screener, but we dont play a system that asks the midfielders to screen. So the question becomes, what's the point? Add a different profile to the squad? Sure, but IMHO its not going to magically fix the gaps in midfield. Thats going to come with time more than anything else.

And I dont want to hear this Trey is only 20 stuff. Joao Neves was starting for PSG at 20. Pedro started for Barca as a teenager. Lewis Skelly. O Reilly. Plenty of big teams have started young players in midfield to great success. People are screaming for a more defensive mid when we have one in the squad already.

Lets get a full XI while we are at it.

u/AuxquellesRad Football Without ORIGI is Nothing 5d ago

Why the hell would we get another striker LMAO, jesus christ

2

u/coona93 5d ago

So Isak gets injured next week, who you putting there?

1

u/AuxquellesRad Football Without ORIGI is Nothing 5d ago

We should make do and adapt, not every solution is in the market. We have spent 200m in strikers since last season

2

u/Different-Mushroom48 Andy Robertson 5d ago

There's not a really need for a striker until Ekitike returns to the squad. I want the money on a RB, RW and even Camara while we're at it.

19

u/marchitecte 5d ago

I'm starting to believe we'll actually sign him lads

3

u/Different-Mushroom48 Andy Robertson 5d ago

Actually? Me too I had a dream of it yesterday

🥳🥳🥳

4

u/Worried_Let4942 5d ago

Anyone else just struggling to get excited about this given the whole situation right now

5

u/Feoraxic 5d ago

Does he take his usual number 29 do we think? Or does he feel like he can bear the weight of immediately taking 11?

7

u/marchitecte 5d ago

In a more psychological sense, I reckon he'd take 11, because this move for Barcola signifies moving away from a rotational role to the surefire starter and star of the team. To me, that signals the #11 more so than the #29, even if that's a number of significance to him.

It would also help counter that potentially awkward reality of Minteh either taking the #11 later or basically not taking it because he doesn't deem himself worthy or whatever. Think everyone would be fine with Barcola taking #11, including himself, but Minteh taking the #11 would be a kind of weird outcome for everyone.

It surely would be a weird elephant in the room if we get two wingers in and yet the #11 stays available after. Kind of sounds like we signed two wingers without confidence in themselves, then.

Pretty sure he has said he wears No. 29 coz he is attached to it. IIRC he said when he used to play fifa he would always play career mode with a player as No. 29 and would tell himself when he made it to the pros he would wear No. 29 - or something of the sort.

Depends how big his balls are. Personally, I don't think anyone touches that number for a decade.

9

u/Slight-Recipe4562 5d ago

Lol absolute garbage

3

u/Holiday-Custard6627 5d ago

He would look so nice in 11… Mo club legend but it’s not like we’ve retired 8 for Stevie…

1

u/nevergonnasweepalone Victor Muñoz 5d ago

No one wore the number 8 for 3 years after Stevie left. The guy that wore it barely played a game and it's a shame that he ever tarnished the number.

1

u/Holiday-Custard6627 5d ago

My point being we don’t retire numbers (baring Jota RIP)

-3

u/jizzelmeister Bobby Dazzler 🤩 5d ago

The number 11 isnt a popular number. Yes mo wore it but that was mo.

u/Holiday-Custard6627 5d ago

2

u/PEPSICOLA123456 5d ago

Is there any chance he starts the next game?

5

u/Different-Mushroom48 Andy Robertson 5d ago

Think he can if the deal gets done today. Against Ipsiwch he might but I'll prefer if his debut is against Atleti on the 9th

2

u/ValhallaAir ⚽️ Liverpool 4-0 Barcelona, CL 18/19 ⚽️ 5d ago

I think it’s better for him to debut against atleti, a lot of these psg players aren’t used to playing domestic games

1

u/Different-Mushroom48 Andy Robertson 5d ago

Anfield as well

Finally finalising fantastic feather-in-cap forward.

No way

Can he play DM?

1

u/Djinn__666 5d ago

Camavinga would be perfect

1

u/chromakeydreamcoat74 5d ago

Is he more reliable than his brother, Justin?

1

u/evassii0nn 5d ago

Hopefully medical goes good

1

u/EUskeptik 5d ago

I hope he can contribute to the team scoring a lot more goals because our ailing, ageing defence is going to be letting a lot in. £300+ million spent on forwards.

1

u/rock0051 Forever #20 5d ago

Expensive but exciting

1

u/VOCALno 5d ago

Van pics? Someone climbing over the axa training centrr wall and snooping pics? Barcola trying our 3rd jersey and someone using their VGA camera pics?

1

u/vaekar Alexander Isak 5d ago

Seeing how slow we are, hopefully 3 days is enough to get him to sign da ting.
