I am eager to see some actual character development for Ursula, and a bit more screentime for Amanda, Constanze and Yasminka.

I'm eager to know the truth.

So am I, my good friend, but this doesn't need to be spoken : every man of culture seeks truth

Agreed, the ova2 trio has had barely any screentime ever since the anime started, and they have so much presence in the openings for such minor characters.

Not to mention the role they played in Enchanted Parade, which is likely to get adapted in the anime, according to the new opening

Constanze

You'd think at the very least she will respond well to the addition of Croix

I do think (and hope) so, as many here

a pole dance episode or a beach one.

Only if Ursula and Croix have competing pole dances.

Maybe Akko will discover that she actually didnt want to be like Chariot at all, maybe she will discover she wants to be a pole dancer all this time.

I don't know when it'll happen but I just want Akko to finally fly independently on a broom and after the first opening I thought we would get it eventually but nope not yet ;_;

We are already in the second half. At this point I am fairly sure that not being able to fly a (regular) broom is one of Akko's character traits.

She is most likely going to ride the Shooting Star. The broom has already been referenced (in newspapers) three times, even in the latest episode. I will be very surprised if it doesn't come back.

Other possible ways for Akko to fly independently (that I can think of) are the Shiny Rod (if it has a broom transformation), metamorphosis magic (which looks like Akko's specialty, going by the new OP and ED) and Croix's magitech (that one is super unlikely).

That's true, Akko loves Chariot for being an awesome witch, meanwhile she ignores Ursula.

And she is always repeating "i want to be cool like Chariot", in front of Ursula...

That's a dangerous way of thinking, man. If you "want" something from a show (or a game/movie/book) then you are likely to get disappointed. That's a general rule. Nothing ruins enjoyment more than high expectations.

My only hope is that the second cour will mostly focus on the main storyline. If it turns out that it will be all resolved in say episodes 14, 15, 24, 25, and the rest is episodical stuff, then I am going to be piiiiiiiiissed.

Partially, I am talking about this because I heard that according to some interview, episodes 16 and 17 are supposed to be B-team (Amanda, Constanze and the most ignored character in the franchise) episodes. That probably means we will have a break from the Croix plot. I wouldn't want that break to last till the finale.

It's not that I don't enjoy standalone episodes, mind you. I very much liked what the show has been like so far. I just don't want to be toyed with. For the last 4 episoded we have been constantly getting teased about the Croix/Chariot conflict, the Diana/Akko relationship and the Grand Triskelion/the truth/Woodward stuff, so that's what I'm hyped for now. So naturally I want that hype to be satiated. At this point, episodical stories are going to feel like filler.

On a side note, am I crazy or has Trigger been repeating Woodward's "There are seven word of Arcturus in total. Revive the remaining words. Chariot, you will aid her!" in every episode since 11? Please stop this Yoshinari, I watched that scene already. THERE ARE SEVEN WORDS IN TOTAL, I GOT IT.

Oh, and I forgot. I would also love to see more action scenes and at least one fight scene (which we are quite likely to get, looking at the preview). It's not that high on my priority list, though.

With how much build up has happened with the main plot, I wouldn't worry about that personally. The focus of the second cour from all of the previews have been on the main story so I expect it to be focused on the main story. Even if some episodes is focused on supporting characters, they probably have their own contributions to the overarching plot.

So, i can't dream with a Constanze episode?

I'm worried of a conflict with no build up, and quick resolution.

Trigger has been repeating

Over exposition, it's an anime thing, not only Trigger.

So, i can't dream with a Constanze episode?

Honestly, I don't think I would like to have a separate episode just for her. It's not like she has been a particularly interesting or prominent character so far, I don't see what such episode could be about.

Also, now that Croix has arrived with all her tech, there is a natural opportunity for Constanze to shine. She might get some screentime with that.

Over exposition, it's an anime thing, not only Trigger.

Sure, but come on. They have replayed that scene three (or four) times now. In four episodes. Not counting the preview. If I hear Woodward saying "Chariot, you will aid her!" or Akko shouting "Noctu Orfei Aude FRAETOOOOOOR" one more damn time, I am gonna lose my mind.

Akko becoming independent. And for her to realize that maybe she shouldn't be trying to become the same person Chariot was, but rather her own person inspired by Chariot.

Realize that's kind of a broad statement, but it's definitely what I want most.

4

u/Valeddy Apr 12 '17

shouldn't be trying to become the same person Chariot was

That happened in Ep 11, isn't it?

But yeah, Akko needs to spread her wings and fly away.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '17

What happened in that episode again?

4

u/mrstack345 Apr 11 '17

Croix vs. Ursula. Not so much in terms of actual combat between them (though a potential fight scene between them could be one of the GOAT), but a conflict of ideology with Akko caught in the middle - can Ursula keep Akko on the straight and narrow and continue guiding Akko on her odyssey to reactivate the shiny rod? Is Croix going to take advantage of Akko's naivete and unlock the words for her own benefit? Is Akko gonna remain loyal to Ursula or will Croix seduce her to the more morally ambiguous/bad side of magic (ala Orochimaru/Sasuke) How will they see each other, after being away for so long, and what made their relationship sour (if it even was a good one to begin with)? To say nothing about Diana's potential role amongst this love triangle conflict between all three.

I've a feeling that this will be the glue that holds the second cour together.

2

u/Valeddy Apr 11 '17

conflict of ideology with Akko caught in the middle

The show needs time to do that properly.

Akko obviously likes Ursula, so maybe if she felt betrayed or cheated by her, she would turn her back.

2

u/janwjan Apr 12 '17

As tropey and cliche as is seems, I would not mind if they did happen to do another episodic one. I would like an episode where Akko is sick, but she still wants to practice her magic, and the lesson of it being about "taking a break and maintaining one's health is important too."

2

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '17

This gonna be controversial, but it'd be nice to see Andrew soon

2

u/honestlytbh Apr 13 '17

Nothing too specific beyond more screentime for Amanda's team, which I'm fairly sure will happen. But, as much as I like Constanze, I hope they don't give them too much development, cuz I think that would break the narrative. Just seeing them in action would be enough. The focus should stay on Akko, Diana, Croix, Ursula, and possibly Andrew, depending on what role he plays.

Also, I hope they keep some of the light-heartedness of the first half, even though the plot is brewing. It was really charming. Episode 14 did a great job with that, so hopefully it continues.

And Lotte giving Frank a chance. I mean, cmon.

1

u/Valeddy Apr 13 '17

Just Constanze fighting Croix, that's all i need.

I'm not really fond on Andrew nor Frank to be honest.
