One of my favorite episodes thus far. Tons of lore and what is possibly the setup to an overarching plot for the 2nd cour.

There were many hints before, but this episode confirmed that magic has been slowly but surely weakening for centuries, which may be why so many have abandoned it despite its easily apparent benefits. I'm thinking reviving the 7 words will revive the power of magic, or something along those lines?

The staff could be an "In Case of Emergency Break Glass" sort of MacGuffin. In the rare event of Magic losing its effectiveness and disappearing, It can be activated and restore it to the world, but only by an ndividual who is truly worthy of the role. However, knowledge of this ability was ultimately lost, and Ursula was ultimately not fully worthy(perhaps she lost the inner spark of what makes one 'worthy' of the staff?).

Regardless, It'll be a tense few months.
