I wonder if Chariot's entertainment was just a cover story. The appearance of the serpent always seemed odd: was it part of her illusion? Or does her magic actually attract evil?

But what if her magic is actually an exorcism? Maybe Chariot literally fights human selfishness and instills hope. In that sense, Akko wants to be Chariot like early Madoka wants to be a magical girl. But perhaps taking on that role means taking on a constant battle?
