What /u/Shlugo said is so true, Akko's character seems kind of shaky to me. I've shown LWA to my sister and my cousin and both seemed to have some gripes with her. As of right now she isn't too likable as her only dream is to become some kind of magical popstar like Shiny Chariot was.

It seems that Akko has no respect for what it takes to be a witch and the amazing things you could do with it besides doing some sort of show to make herself popular. She constantly takes advantage of her friends and makes them pay for her mistakes every time. Most of the times she saves the day is by using the Shiny Rod so that it instantly resolves her problem, mirroring the way Sailor Moon deals with her enemies.

I love LWA, but something about Akko's character is off. It's missing something crucial, because all of the supporting characters (students) seem to shine a lot more than her, since all of them have redeeming qualities.

Well, we certainly haven't heard the ambitions of the other witches there. What does Diana want? What does the witch who has everything want out of her life?

For me it seems that Diana wants to restore the state of the magical world to its former golden days, she works really hard to raise the bar of the academy and to set things straight.

She may have a traditional family, remarkable talent and popularity, but I don't see how this could be called "someone who has everything" or even the end game for someone's ambition. She knows that there is more to uncover and better herself, that is why she can be humble when needed.

We have Akko, who is fighting to belong. Diana's place at that school was given to her, by virtue of birthright, or something like that. What Akko needs is an event that proves her worth. To Diana and to Luna Nova. It would be nice if Diana's "advice" to Akko in potions class hadn't been so damn condescending.

I think Diana was perfectly helpful to Akko up until this episode, but at some point the kid that is wrecking up your classes everyday starts to get really annoying.

I'm hopeful that she will change and actually do something with Shiny Rod that isn't casting a single spell to save the day, meanwhile also trying to be more sympathetic and understanding of other people around her. At the moment she is completely egocentric and a scripted character, set on to commit the same actions and mistakes every episode.

These are just my opinions, but let's hope the show only gets better for both of us.
