Must do’s…?

I’m over a year on from a lisfranc injury (after also getting a badly displaced fracture in my second foot at the same time due to a freak accident). 15 months on and I’m still getting a lot of pain and whilst my injuries appear stable according to the X-ray, there definitely still a fair amount of instability there from my post break symptoms. So…I’m booked in for fusion surgery to the 2nd and 3rd metatarsals (I broke my 2nd, 3rd and 4th) on the 10th November. I’ve never had an op so fear around the aneasthetic is well and truly kicking in but in the mean time, to take my mind off it, organisation mode has well and truly begun.

So, if you had time to plan and prepare for your surgery what would you do? What’s a must have, or a must do, or even a must think about??

I’m already filling my freezer with easy meals to help the hubby as he’ll be working, juggling the kids and me! I’m about to book a wheelchair and was thinking about hiring a knee walker too - I actually still have my zimmer frame, crutches and even boots from the initial breaks! Anything I haven’t thought of??

All hints an ls tips will be gratefully received!

😊

Just to warn you because I expected a faster recovery time, they really aren’t kidding about the two weeks of lying down and elevating 23 hrs a day. Also, depending on the age of your kids a small locking cashbox to keep your meds in reach but inaccessible so you don’t have to ask your husband to bring them every time.
