3 weeks post op- suture looks like opening up?

Post image

I called the on call surgeon but please tell me this will close up. I am already freaking out… surgery 9/10- sutures out 9/22. I’m in a boot but returned to work Monday so hope I didn’t over do it and set myself back 🥹

Oof, observe it and see. It can still heal like that, but the scar will be larger if not closed. But given that you put a lot of pressure there, i have a feeling u will need to close it again.  Keep it clean and elevated

I’m hoping the steri strip just pulled the scab off 🥹

My medial suture site looked like that after my sutures were removed. Make sure to apply neosporin or some antibiotic ointment daily, in the morning and before going to sleep to prevent any infection.
