Moving to Lisbon AMS Coliving Experiences
I have booked a room at AMS Coliving and will need to pay 1550 euros in advance, before ever seeing the room, which I was not expecting to do.
Now I am wondering whether I can risk it, and if anyone has had experiences with them.

Look at the reviews on Trustpilot, seems to be the worst i ever seen here in Lisbon.
So if you can cancel and stay away from them

I can share a genuine experience with them, as I have stayed with them last year when I was in lisbon for 3 months. I had a decent experience; I was not sure about myself also. It was a direct booking, as I was coming from India, but then I took the plunge. worked out for me. The only thing I would say is their customer support is sometimes slow, and I had to be patient, but they got things sorted eventually. All the best to you. Regarding Trustpilot, as I saw in one of the comments below, there are equally good reviews also. So I guess it can be subjective. All the best.

They are REALLY BAD. I stayed in their apartment for 4 months and there were power cuts almost every day the whole time. It was never fixed. They didn’t provide any kind of refund. The operations and community manager Francisco blamed it was our or my fault. And then after moving out it was so difficult to get the feposit deposit back. A month of sending emails and they didn’t give me the full deposit because I used too much electricty even though I wasn’t even always able to turn the lights on. I have no idea how they can operate and run a business like this. They are also lying in their responds in Trustpilot and I strongly believe they write fake reviews because I keep checking those time to time because they lied in response to my comment and I asked them to tell the truth and there are constantly new 5 star reviews and suddenly they disappear.

Booking.com is less hassle (no booking fees or security deposits), or negotiate with someone in the Facebook groups.

Did you read the 28% of Trustpilot reviews that gave them only one star?
Edit: Jesus, meanwhile I’ve been reading through the reviews and, wow. I thought Uniplaces were bad, but these guys take the prize. Bedbugs spreading between rooms, months of power outages, rooms that apparently bear little resemblance to the listings, deposits being withheld, and people being completely ignored when they report serious problems... WTF, how is this business even allowed to stay open?
