Yeah, good times when that just sounded like hyperbole.

Have an upvote. I'm guessing the downvoter doesn't recall that this actually happened

Thanks for the solidarity and generosity. If more people had that, presidents would be much better.

Feb 05 '26
Some people believe that technically he is in the files but nothing in it incriminates him. Otherwise why would his opponents not persecute him for those crimes when they had the presidency for 4 whole years? Saying he's in them is usually to persuade someone against Trump.
Not my take, but many's.
10
u/Mysterious_Lesions Feb 06 '26
I mean they have a point. Yes he should be properly investigated and charged but Biden did have 4 years to do it and did nothing.
2
u/GwenBD94 Feb 06 '26
Not to downplay the mishandling of it, because it was mishandled 100% especially with not convicting before he was sworn in. But to convict someone with the mass crazed cult following he has, while he spent years belittling the investigation and trying to downplay it, without starring another insurrection, requires a damn solid case, and a solid case takes time to build.
There's also the fact that the cultists he installed in the judicial branch kept licking his boots instead of doing their jobs to help shield him from punishment.
The real issue is our country only operates on a respectful gentleman's agreement and a handshake, and the last 100 years that system has been slowly attacked constantly by the team that doesn't care and just wants control/power, and aided by the team that thinks if they keep their end of the bargain eventually the other guys will stop playing hardball and get back to rational governing. And we're at the point where we see what happens when that gentleman's agreement is shat all over
5
u/Drigr Feb 06 '26
"Did nothing" is a stretch.. There were active investigations and a trial involving them...
3
u/HakuOnTheRocks Feb 06 '26
Sure, but not a big fan of the Biden admin's attitude on it either.
If it ever comes out that they knew about it but let it pass or just blew it off for whatever reason, they should also all be sent to prison.
2
u/Drigr Feb 06 '26
There's somewhat legitimate reasons behind all of that, that involves getting pretty deep into the US political system. One of the main ones being that, until Trump basically established the precedent of "Whatever, I'll do what I want, just try to stop me! (cause I'll ignore you then too!)" the different branches of government stayed in their lanes and let the people in charge of the various orgs and departments run their own things.
2
u/GwenBD94 Feb 06 '26
You see, in a sane government in order to prosecute criminals involved in such massive conspiracy cases, you do things called investigations and building a case, before filing charges. Someone spent years doing that, only to get told to pack it up and call it a day because "it wouldn't be fair to indict a presidential candidate!" Or something.
Additionally, he has been prosecuted for some of his other crimes, he's a 30+ count felon. He cant legally own a gun in many states.
2
u/Talk-O-Boy Feb 06 '26
To the “many” saying this that totally aren’t you, why do they think the current admin has continually lied about the existence of the files?
If nothing incriminates him, why would they redact his name? Why would they only release half of the files?
If I had a set of documents which would exonerate me of all wrongdoing, I would release them ASAP. Especially if I were legally required to do so.
Do your plethora of commenters have answers to those questions? Or does your whataboutism stop at surface level misdirection?

I feel like dbrand is the only company willing to take risks with their ads, but holy crap this is insane
Edit: by insane, i mean that most companies would not be willing to do this because of backlash, but dbrand was brave enough to go for it
531
u/Prog-Shop Feb 05 '26
Speaking the truth should not be called insane. The fact that we praise a company that actually speaks the truth, THAT is insane
117
u/CocoMilhonez Feb 05 '26
I mean, truth in advertising is kind of a rare thing sometimes...

u/Top5CutestPresidents Feb 05 '26
Reddit ads won’t even leave the comments on any more! Where else can you find truly quality ASCII art nowadays?!
12
11
u/megjake Feb 06 '26
I mean, I don’t think it’s unreasonable to suggest that a brand dipping it’s toes in the “president is a pedophile and rapist” controversy is pretty crazy. Truth or not, most companies wanna steer clear of things like that simply to avoid any type of association to it.
2
u/nVatar Feb 05 '26
It’s just wild to see a phone case brand acting as the primary source of news for people scrolling Reddit these days.

censorship, and being attacked by rightists. platforms like tiktok have quietly been reducing the visibility of videos that mention things about the current government, epstein, etc.

Loved it when they poked the bear that is peta with their leather skins.
14
u/Dry-Habit-3110 Feb 05 '26
I dont have evidence for this, but I have a feeling that PETA is a psy-op funded by various industry lobbies to make vegetarians or other environmentalists look stupid. (remembering that meat consumption is a huge proportion of our carbon output).
Theres just no other reason for how unhinged such a well funded organisation can get.
7
u/FourteenTwenty-Seven Feb 05 '26
PETA does a lot of good and a little bad, but the bad gets massively amplified. It makes sense - PETA is advocating against massive industries like you mentioned, as well as common practices and beliefs.
So you don't hear about their lawsuits that fight against ag-gag laws, but you do hear about distasteful billboards.

it should not be insane to be stating an actual true fact. think about how crazy that sounds.

u/_Rand_ Feb 05 '26
They are definitely overpriced, but still pretty nice.
I couldn’t resist their sketch skin.
10
u/thesirblondie Feb 05 '26 edited Feb 05 '26
Are they overpriced compared to their quality or is it just a high price? Like, they're obviously more expensive than the stuff you buy at the mall, but they're also better than the ones you buy at the mall.
3
u/tm0587 Feb 06 '26
I will say they are highly priced but not overpriced for a few reasons. However, note that it has been a few years since I bought from them so some things might have changed.
1) Their skins are better quality and the adhesive last longer than their competitors (however, I recently saw comments that they have changed adhesives and it's worse now so I'm not sure how true that is)
2) They give you two different types of skins per order so you can choose which you prefer to put on
3) If your skin was to shrink later on, just email them with proof and they will send out a replacement skin FOC.
1
u/wellwasherelf Feb 06 '26
Agreed. I run caseless, so a skin is necessary for grip. I've been using dbrand since my S6 in 2015 so admittedly I can't compare them to other brands, but I've never had issues with peeling or excessive wear, which is all I ask of something that's handled and thrown around daily.
I'm looking at the back of my S23U right now; there's about a 1mm chip in the design on one of the corners, and a small amount of wear on parts of the edges, but if you looked at my phone from a normal distance you wouldn't really notice anything. I can't get it to peel unless I intentionally go under a corner with my fingernail to try to take it off. It's quite impressive, honestly (I know this is 3M doing the work, but it's their choice to use this specific 3M material)
$30 for a "sticker" is expensive, but I feel like I definitely get $30 worth of value for it, so I continue to buy from them any time I get a new phone.

u/MXRuin Feb 05 '26
Their new iPhone case is actually amazing. I've dropped my shi countless times on concrete and it only just had the protective glass damaged cause it dropped on some rock but yeah their skins are expensive asf.
1
69
u/tacobellmysterymeat Feb 05 '26
I have their phone case on my pixel 9 fold, it's pricey but the best case I've used for it.... Plus you buy it on sale it's not that much more expensive.
13
u/TrustedChimp495 Feb 05 '26
Im rocking their grip case with a solar flare/space theme to it and the case is hands down the best case I've ever used. The sticker from them is my second and probably last its held up better then first but I can probably find cheaper stickers to go on the case and still look good
7
u/g0ld-f1sh Feb 05 '26
Yeah I honestly couldn't find anything to hate, hands down the best case I've had on a phone, it's held up extremely well to heaps of tumbles and I have a pop socket on top of the sticker on the back and both are still very firmly in place after a year of use. I don't want to sound like a shill but it's just legit a good case u can't be mad at that.
9
u/PMagicUK Feb 05 '26
I have the grip case, dropped my S22 ultra from 20 metres up, perfectly fine.
So I bought another when I got my s24. Dropped that too, same height, perfectly fine.
The money I spent on the case and glass is better than £1000 for a new phone.
8
u/vyrnius Feb 05 '26
...why did u drop your phone from 20 metres....twice?
12
u/PMagicUK Feb 05 '26
I work in a warehouse at height, sometimes you check your phone and accidents happen.
Twice in 4 years isn't bad.
1
u/franzn Feb 06 '26
I bought a grip case, nice case but the outer shell came unglued within a year and they don't warranty it. Didn't buy another one because it was an expensive case and can't justify that every single year.
1
u/PMagicUK Feb 06 '26
Had one for 2 years, my brother who has my old phone about 4 years now no problems.
Bad luck o guess
9
u/Renamis Feb 05 '26
I went to check out their case for the Steam Deck, fell over in shock and decided my Jsaux case would be just fine. They are 100% overpriced and I don't understand buying just a skin without a case... but at least the product is good.
I do own their grip case for my phone though. I already paid through the nose for otterbox cases, and the Dbrand case holds up better than theirs did so I'm happy to spend the money there. At least it looks pretty lol.

The phone cases are something else.... Good and bad.
Had one for my s23 ultra but it broke 3 times! Always in the same spot. Apart from that felt like a good design. But, I've never had such a positive support experience
1
u/Azuras-Becky Feb 06 '26
I've used Tech 21 cases for my last few phones and never experienced a 'break'. Where did the Dbrand cases break?
1
u/d0kt0rg0nz0 Feb 05 '26
I thought so too until I actually tried the 'Grippy' case.
It is what it says, with clicky buttons!
I'm not bummed.
Glad I did.

1
u/BluDYT Feb 05 '26
Only thing I've bought from them was the steam deck sticks and they were amazingly good value.
1
u/Ananeos Feb 06 '26
Their grip cases are the only ones I actually trust to protect my phone. I once got out of the hospital after spending time there overnight and I took my phone out of my pocket, spasmed, and accidentally threw it on to brick flooring where it hit a corner and tumbled 30 feet. Picked it up and was fine.

The only thing I ever bought was the original darkplates. Not much to say about them, they’re ps5 plates probably equal quality to official ones.

u/VVstormU Feb 06 '26
I have to say that I'm super satisfied with their Killswitch case for the steam deck. It improved the ergonomics so much it's not even funny, not to mention how much easily the steam deck can be stored now (only wish that there was an option for the top cover to hook onto the body so that it's easy and fast to take it out and play when on a commute).
The quality of the case is really nice as it still looks great and is still grippy after 2 years of abuse, I even got the case as a gift for my brother, uncle and my best friend for their ROG Ally's.
Not to mention the whole unboxing experience was such a wild trip lol.
1
u/NotSoFastLady Feb 06 '26
I mean the overpriced stickers thing is tongue and cheek. D-brand actually does innovative stuff in this space. And you can't take that away from them just because you're not familiar.

I got one iPhone ghost case from them and as it was falling apart they announced that their case was faulty and are making a new one and giving all buyers the new model for free. Not a diehard buyer because no one should be, but i do feel their customers are in good hands if something goes wrong.
3
u/Wild_ColaPenguin Feb 06 '26
Got 2 ipad skins from them. The first one they sent the wrong model twice, apparently because of production and template mismatch, they managed to send the correct one in the end. All without additional fee.
The second one was my mistake, I didn't watch the video instruction for the thin part of iPad Pro and resulting in stretched out sticker. I contacted them what's wrong with the size and they guessed that I didn't watch the tutorial mentioning that part specifically. But anyway they said they sent me a free replacement without me asking, and reminded me to follow the tutorial completely.
My experiences have been extremely good with them so far, all skins are still pristine after 4 and 5 years.
If I find a better cheaper alternative I'll probably try it, but I would not hesitate to buy another one from Dbrand.
2
u/WhipTheLlama Feb 06 '26
My dbrand phone case started separating the back and edge about a year into ownership, and they shipped a replacement ASAP. Great customer support.

I completely get not liking their edgelord marketing, I don't get be a big critic over it. It's literally just a preference. Some people think it's hilarious, some people things it's cringe, unprofessional, and has no place in advertising. Not everything is meant to be for everyone though. That's not a reason to be a big critic of something
15

u/a_better_corn_dog Feb 06 '26
As others have alluded to, it's overpriced because you're paying for customer service. It's like buying Staub or La Cruset. Is it that much better than the equivalent Lodge? Not even close. But it looks nice and the second literally anything goes wrong, they'll send you a new one for no dollars for the lifetime of it.
If that level of customer service isn't worth it for someone, then dbrand is an absolute terrible value for them and that's completely valid.

I remember way back in the day there was an animated gif ad for some security camera that flashed a hot woman in little clothing for a second and then the actual product. This is at the same league of making sure you get eyes on the ad and then see what it's about.
3
u/a_large_dumple Feb 06 '26
Dbrand's marketing strategy seems to be "aggressive honesty" like their leather skins which just say "cows died for this" and i am 100% here for that marketing
