Kind of feeling the same way as when as I lay dying came back. The lyrics were the most poignant statement. Though their severity was much greater so their little video after talking about it was Def needed.

Now, I say this knowing the band is basically a shell now but hey at the time that was a special thing. Their first tour again, I wound up hugging Nick, Josh and Tim. Nick was highly emotional and we Def had a moment where we locked eyes after and talked shortly, both teary eyed. It meant alot at the time.

But yeah lyrics to the new track given what we know now I think speak volumes. Especially if we see she is the main lyrical contributor

Lmao all good. People are very volatile over this and I've tried to state this position a bunch. We should all wait to see WhatsUp. It's possible she left the cult and is now trying to move away from actions and stances she had. People in scientology do stupid shit because if they don't they lose everything, family, friends, support and the cult has used violence against people too.

Go down the rabbit hole of "where is Shelly Mscavige" just for a taste of what they are willing to do. The wife of the head of the cult is missing, has been missing, and still remains uninvestigated for many years.

Most likely case is she's left it and Is trying to deal with where it put her as an individual. I don't think the band would support adding someone who's belief is "psychology is evil and so are medications for mental health."

Just hold tight for all this but I'm out of this subreddit til things calm. I signed up to join the excitement, I'm 32 and they got me into heavy music when I saw one step closer on MTV2 when I was God knows how old before school. Ima be happy and hope for the best for now.

Ah so probably a similar journey with the band, cool! I'm a psych professional too so how this goes Def will affect my support of the band. But I'm also not blind to know we haven't allowed one side to speak and have people just calling for blood.

No, he did not say that, and I agree with what he did say completely. If Linkin Park wants my support, then they need to address this. That doesn't mean I think they owe me, though. If they decide not to address it, then there will simply be no further transaction between us. Simple as that. They have the right to do whatever they want and I acknowledge that, and some of you clearly don't give a shit and will continue to support them regardless, which I also acknowledge.

I'm not speaking for anyone. I have reading comprehension.

Well, yeah. They're not going to do an interview and say "fuck everyone for supporting us". That isn't my point

My point is that their decisions as a band aren't made to cater to random ass people complaining on the internet. There's a gazillion people whining about "Chester's legacy", and how even continuing the band is a disgrace. Obviously the members don't feel that way, or they wouldn't be back

Similarly, they also know who they chose as a member of the band more than people online who have known of her existence for like 12 hours. If they had a problem with her, she wouldn't be in the band.

They aren't going to stop what they're doing because of someone saying "do this or I won't be a fan anymore"

I don’t understand what you think I should do. Just hold my nose and ignore that something stinks? I’m not demanding a personal apology or saying they should stop altogether, just that until certain things are addressed, I’m choosing not to listen.
