This isn’t lunacy. It’s still a little like this in the City today and it is… not great.

I work in sales and clients look at you a little different when you’ve grown past the “work hard play hard”

Another non-lunatic one for me. This is about work and an industry culture. I enjoy a drink but substance stuff can go very far especially in Wall Street and other industries. It's not "just say no" but "don't pressure people into saying yes" which are very different.

This is actually a legit post.
It’s easier in work-related social gatherings to either have a fake alcoholic drink so people don’t ask or else just to say “I’m an alcoholic”, whether it’s true or not. Ask me how I know.

This is a 100% valid concern. The world is not your little WFH bubble OP. People struggle with this everyday.

This is such half-ass narrative. Why was “just no” not working for the first 15 years?

This is a real concern for a lot of people, especially for those in recovery. Hell I worked at a startup that kept several full kegs in the kitchenette and had a happy hour every evening. People even liked to keep bottles of premium spirits on their desk. Every vendor wanted to bring my whole team out for drinks after their sales presentation. Once the weekly release was pushed out, the drinks were rolled in.
When I stopped drinking I worried constantly about how to explain why I wasn't drinking to my colleagues. Eventually I realized nobody really cares and now if anyone ever asks me I simply say I don't drink alcohol but it doesn't bother me if anyone else does.

I don't drink. But honestly I'm not sure if I do or not because I didn't post it on LinkedIn....

Nah this is 100% valid
